The Greenway OrchardThe Greenway Orchard is a volunteer led community garden on the Greenway near Newham University Hospital. They have requested our help to clear a very overgrown area of the Orchard and our energy and effort will make a real difference. Once cleared, they will then cultivate and plant flower and other seeds in, and over time a new flower meadow will appear through the miracle of horticulture (and a fair bit of TLC).
This is a new task for us and we can't wait to help them transform this space. We're also very excited to be using Freaks and Geeks as our meeting point for this task - they've very kindly allowed us to use the bar as a bag drop.
What to bring / wear
- Head torch or searchlight if you have one (it will be dark in the Orchard)
- Long sleeves and long trousers (or similar protection for arms and legs)
- Sturdy gardening gloves if you have them (gloves and cutting tools are also available on site)
How to Join
- Running option: meet at Freaks and Geeks at 6:30pm (sign-up above - we can leave bags if necessary, but anything left is at your own risk). All paces welcome.
- Non-running option: meet at the Orchard at 7:00pm
We'll be heading back to Freaks and Geeks after the task to have a celebratory St Patrick's Day pint of the black stuff, or whatever suits your fancy, to be sure...
How are you getting there?
