Friends of Kelsey Park
Today, the Friends of Kelsey Park have a membership of around 600 households and they provide the busy groups of volunteers, some of whom manage the Information Centre at weekends, others become involved in conservation work, particularly in the woodland areas. They help with the monthly “bird count” of native and migrating species each month. When it becomes necessary they liaise with the local wildlife rescue centres when injured birds or small animals are brought to their notice. They organise various activities in the park for children, the Easter Egg Hunt and the Bat Walks and for families and adults, the Dawn Chorus Walk and an occasional musical concert.

Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

The Friends of Kelsey Park help to maintain this lovely green space with monthly gardening sessions that benefit the creatures and plants that live there.

We'll meet the team in the middle of the park, near the visitor centre, grab tools from the container, find out our specific task and get cracking.

⏰ Arrive at 9:30 at the Information Centre and leave when you need to. An hour would be great. The friends team usually stick around until 12.

🥊 Please bring gardening gloves.

Hey Stephen, what happens if it's really raining? I've just checked the weather forecast!
