Stop. Bramble time!!

A one off side-mission on Friday 25 July 2025

We'll be GoodGymming with Alison from the Independent Living Agency to help clear overgrown weeds and brambles from a side-alley - which are currently preventing Jacqui from accessing her garden.

Our group sessions are open to everyone - if you're new to GoodGym please sign up and come along - we are inclusive and friendly, and we'll be pleased to see you!!

No previous gardening experience necessary. All tools, gloves, and guidance provided..

๐Ÿงค What Weโ€™ll Do

  • Cut back weeds and brambles (using tools and gloves provided.

  • Put cuttings in bags

  • Move bags to end of alley ready for collection Clearing and weeding areas of the garden

๐Ÿ•• Timings

  • 3.45โ€“ 4pm โ€“ meet outside Barking Station ready to leave at 4pm for a gentle 1-mile jog to the task location. We're a friendly and inclusive group and we never leave anyone behind :)

  • 4.15 โ€“ 4.20 - intro & safety briefing.

  • 4.20 โ€“ 4.55 โ€“ Task time!

๐ŸŒž Why It Matters

Jacqui needs to access her garden to enjoy and maintain it. Being older and more isolated - being able to use thier garden again will have a huge impact!

๐Ÿ‘‹ Who Youโ€™ll Meet

  • Alison, project lead from Independent Living Agency

Come along for a relaxed and friendly volunteering session โ€“ no experience needed, just bring your energy and community spirit!

I hope to see you there!

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 0km and 1km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
