Christmas For CAMHS
Christmas For CAMHS is a registered charity who provides special Christmas gifts every year for children and young people who are inpatients in child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) wards across the UK over the Christmas holiday period. We want to make children and young people who are inpatients over the festive season feel thought-about, special and included - our individual gifts for each young person to keep, as well as gifts for their ward, help us to do this.

CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) at Christmas is a charity that provides Christmas presents and cards for children who are inpatient on mental health wards over Christmas.

Their aim is to make every child feel thought about, remembered and special.

They would like our help to create handmade Christmas cards to send to a child over Christmas.

Meeting at the pub, please bring your own supplies to make your cards. Ruth will bring blankets cards and decorating bits.

Please see here for card ideas; https://www.christmasforcamhs.org.uk/christmas-cards

Here is the guidance: You can be as creative as you like with your cards - please avoid anything overtly religious and make sure you don’t use anything sharp like staples.

Once you have made your card you can write inside. You can start the message that you write in your card with ‘Dear Friend.’ When you write the message in your card, please avoid mentioning illness - please don’t say ‘get well soon’ or ‘sorry you’re ill’ - and please don’t say anything overtly religious as the cards need to be appropriate for young people of all faiths and religions. You can then sign with your first name (no surnames please). Please DON’T include any contact details in your card - we won’t be able to use any cards with mobile numbers or email addresses written in them.

If you need any ideas for messages, these are some nice ones from a previous year: ’Thinking of you and I hope you have some good things over this Christmas time’ ‘Happy Christmas! Sending you love in the holidays’ ‘Merry Christmas - I hope there are some nice activities for you to do’.
