Hi everyone and welcome to GoodGym Greenwich!

We're a friendly and social group who combine running with volunteering in the local community. We meet every Wednesday to get active and do a physical task for charities and community organisations in the area.

Let's Lift the Curfew 2026: join us for a special session

Tonight we're joining forces with This Girl Can and their Let's Lift the Curfew campaign.

When the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, millions of women across the UK will once again see their world get smaller as the nights get darker.

Safety concerns affect where they go, when they go, who they go with and whether they can be active outdoors at all.

Whether shaped by past experiences, stories they've heard, or not feeling comfortable or confident in a particular place after dark, many women are unable to be active outdoors or use public spaces in the same way that men do.

In fact, nearly three-quarters (72%) of women in the UK change their outdoor activity routines during winter. Let's Lift the Curfew challenges this reality to ensure no woman has to change where, when or how she gets active because of safety concerns.

You can read about, and complete, GoodGym's own training on this issue here.

Tonight's Task

We will be running about 1km from the station to Glyndon Community Centre where we'll be helping out with odd jobs. It's a short run but note there is a hill! After the session we'll head back to Woolwich for a short 10 minute fitness session to give us a bit more of a challenge.

Where & When

We meet at 6.45pm for a 7 o'clock start at the Woolwich Elizabeth Line station. Please note people find the postcode takes you somewhere else so if this is your first time to the station use the what three words location which is ///hears.single.ports. Please get in touch with Rachel on 07952192005 if you can't find us!

The session will be about 90 minutes in total so we should be all wrapped up by 8.30pm.

What to bring

Please bring some gloves and a headtorch if you have one, otherwise it's just you.

See you then 😁
