12:00 - 12:30During the Covid-19 crisis, GG Sheffield has the opportunity to donate food and essentials to a local women's refuge. During the lockdown a 25% rise in domestic abuse and violence has already been reported and it is becoming increasingly difficult for women and children in those circumstances at this time.
This is a one-off donation for the week so several areas can be covered. The refuge is NO LONGER receiving any donations from food banks and will rely completely on these donations. This week the foods needed will be:
- Tinned foods
- Long life milk
- Cereal
- Sanitary products
- Non perishable foods
- Any item as a woman you feel you couldn't live without or would be useful!
To donate, please leave food around the side of Sarah K's house (address available from her, privately) on
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Monday
She will then take the donations on Tuesday morning.
There will be a box for donations to be left in.
Please follow guidance on the Goodgym Covid-19/Coronavirus training to ensure you keep safe during the process of donating/leaving food.
If you like, you can use your daily walk/run/cycle to bring these donations.
Thanks very much for all your efforts. Hopefully this is one way in which we can help our community during this very difficult time.
The refuge will be extremely grateful for any donations and the effort that our local GG team put into getting them to women in need.
