Community Mission: Help Launch the Gardening for Nature Project at Lyttelton Playing Fields!

Join us for a special public-facing event with Earthwatch UK as we help launch the BBLG Gardening for Nature Project!

This project encourages local residents to make small but powerful changes to their gardens to support wildlife, reduce flooding, and help tackle climate change. GoodGym Barnet has already been supporting the site, and now’s our chance to help build momentum with the wider community.

What’s happening on the day: • 🌿 A fun introduction to the project: why gardens matter for nature and climate resilience • 🪱 Engagement activities including soil health testing, biodiversity monitoring, and garden design • 🎨 Creative activities like stone painting for all ages • 🧺 A community picnic (pollinator-friendly foods included!) • 👖 A quirky “pants to plant” experiment – people take home a pair to bury in their gardens for 6 months to test soil health! • 🗑️ Plus, we’ll round things off with a litter pick to care for the park.

It’ll be light-touch, fun, and a great way to show local people what GoodGym is all about – supporting community projects, meeting new people, and making a difference.
