Who this task will support
Refugee Action Kingston
Refugee Action Kingston has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers in and around Kingston-Upon-Thames for over 30 years. Against an increasingly challenging backdrop both in the UK and abroad, we have sought to be a positive source of support for our clients. One that focusses on matching the ambitions of our clients and their needs. We provide our clients with a wide range of support, from initial emergency assistance to long-term integration. Research confirms what we see every day: that language, employment, and housing have the biggest impact on refugee integration.

Refugee Action Kingston are organising a 'Moving On' day for refugees and asylum seekers and they have requested that we join them to talk about the benefits of GoodGym.

This is a chance to help people understand the health benefits of running/fitness and the mental health benefits of volunteering in your local area. The more people feel connected to their local areas, the more accepted they will feel in their new communities. Help make a positive change by encouraging people to join GoodGym to gain confidence in their fitness, practise speaking English in a relaxed environment and getting to know their local area.

We will have a table and will take our banner and T-shirts to show off all our wonderful branded kit. Even if you can make it in your work lunch break then come for a bit and help share the GoodGym love.
