Groundwork East
Groundwork East is a community-led charity currently tackling food poverty issues across Luton. Groundwork currently has three food hubs open to the public from March to October in the form of drop in sessions. These hubs are open to the community in the form of drop in sessions to reduce social isolation, improve mental wellness and increase community engagement. All the fruit and veg grown at these hubs is donated to crisis services and participants.

Join Groundwork at this session to remove invasive Himalayan Balsam plants from the riverbanks and make space for native species. This will help preserve the precious chalk stream habitat.

The team are meeting in Lewsey Sports Centre car park at 10am and will then go down to work by the river at the bottom of the hill so if you're running late you will hopefully find them there.

The area you'll be working in has a lot of stinging nettles so long trousers and sleeves will be best.
