We’re living in a nature and climate emergency, and we won’t stop whilst the threats persist. We bring people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. We carry out conservation on a large scale, protect and restore habitats, and save species from extinction. Our work is driven by science and evidence. It’s rooted in five areas: species, science, place, policy and people.

Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers take part to build a picture of how garden birds are faring.

⌚Running from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th January. Choose an hour that suits you.

📌 Location of your choice. It could be your garden or arrange to meet other GoodGymers in a central location. Walk, run or cycle!

✅How to take part:

  • Register and get your free digital or paper guide on the RSPB Website

  • Decide on your patch - this could be in a garden or a central green space (wrap up warm!)

  • Spend an hour watching the birds in your patch and record the birds that land.

  • Take a photo / selfie (ideally in your GoodGym t-shirt) while you are watching the birds and share it in the GoodGym Cambridge WhatsApp group or via email to cambridge@goodgym.org.

  • Submit your results (one set per location) online on the RSPB website.

Please note the task time is a suggestion. You can choose to do your watch where you like and at any time over the weekend.
