โ๏ธ Safety information
There are risks common to both activities as well as risks specific to each activity:
- Weather: dress suitably for 7 degrees centigrade and grey sky.
- Cover any cuts or grazes on your hands and arms with plaster.
- While working, please keep your rigger gloves on.
- You should bring shoes with strong soles and preferably, hard toe-caps to protect you against injury from heavy or sharp objects.
- Slips, trips and falls: during or after rain, the ground will be slippery so please be cautious.
- Keep within sight of the group at all times.
- Heavy objects: take care lifting the paving slabs โ they weigh about 40 kilos each! Ask another person to help you lift and carry them. Above all, make sure they do not fall on your feet or legs!
- Weeding: Carry and use forks and spades carefully to keep yourself and others safe. Keep a safe distance from people around you. We have no source of funding so please avoid damaging the gardening tools.
