Who this task will support
Liverpool Irish Centre
The Liverpool Irish Centre is a community and social hub at the heart of the Irish community on Merseyside. Originally situated at 127 Mount Pleasant, we moved to our current location in 1999. Our mission is to promote Irish Heritage & Culture, provide a space for this to happen, and support members of the Irish Community in doing so. Not only that, we serve the wider community too and seek to bring people from all backgrounds together. The Centre serves the thriving Irish and local community, supporting a range of groups from Irish dancing, music and language to mental health awareness and well-being. The Centre promotes culture, heritage and creativity through plays, pantomimes, reading groups and partnerships with local writers and writing groups. We're keen to support the communities of Liverpool β€” the place that opened its door for the Irish in their time of need. We partner with local groups and communities, offer opportunities to local people and support local businesses.

The Liverpool Irish Centre are holding a volunteer day and we're going to get involved!

It's an open drop in session, feel free to come for an hour, stay for the whole session, or anywhere in between. It's a great opportunity for Goodgym Liverpool to meet the Liverpool Irish Centre team, show them what we can do, and see if we can help out more regularly! Please wear your Goodgym t-shirts so you're identifiable, and they can see exactly how fabulous we are :)

Task description from the Liverpool Irish Centre website:

We’re getting stuck in at Liverpool Irish Centre and we’d love your help!

πŸ“… Tuesday 18th August ⏰ 4–8pm πŸ“ Main Hall & More

Whether you can spare the full evening or just pop in for an hour, every pair of hands makes a difference. We’ll be getting jobs done around the main hall and continuing to improve the Centre for everyone.

☘️ Refreshments provided – just turn up!

Come along, get involved and help us keep building a better Liverpool Irish Centre together. πŸ’š

Remember, although this is an open Volunteer Day, if you've signed up to this listing you're still there on behalf of Goodgym, so usual rules apply - no power tools!

As it's a 4-hour drop in session we're not expecting everyone to attend for the whole session. If you're uncomfortable turning up before other Goodgymmers get there, you can arrange and co-ordinate times in the WhatsApp group so you know when others will be there too.

How are you getting there?
