Date and time
10:00 - 13:00This local charity has requested our support with this project. They will provide all the equipment, but they would appreciate it if we could bring our gardening gloves. 🌳
We will be protecting and expanding the heathland by removing invasive saplings with bow saws, loppers, tree poppers and mattocks with the arisings stacked so that we can create a dead hedge at a later date. Please let us know if you are attending, so we can provide sufficient tools. Meet in the car park next to the St John's Memorial Hall GU21 7SQ; alternative parking available in the car park next to Rowlands. We will move to the working site (what3words reference: ///blame.groom.lions) soon after 10am, so please be on time. The site is a 5-7 minute walk from the main car park. Walk diagonally to the right over the Lye, cross the stream, turn right at the next open section and follow the path/tree line for 100m and enter the path into the woods and walk another 150m to the open area. Walk down the alley and take the path on the right which will lead to the bridge and into the reserve. 😊
