Ready to go back to school... Sol ran to the task this evening and certainly wanted to be teachers pet with a pre sort out warm up! Anita overlooked her star jumping before lunging into action.. shortly met by Claire they began to sort through, categorise and size bags and piles of school uniforms. Jumpers, cardigans, trousers, pinafores, shirts and loads more were now all lined up in neat piles and put away, labelled with a good old post it note!

Branching out from our first session last week, six GoodGymers showed some Top (glue) Gun skills on the return trip to Boyne Hill School to continue repairing their playground mural. We heard all about Sophie and Julie's Endure 24 experience, as well as chatting about Love Island and ice cream and enjoying the evening sunshine as we worked our way through more bags of bottle tops.
We never leaf a job unfinished for long so we were pleased to be back so soon…and we all had a tree-mendous time.

Well done to everyone who came along on this evening's group run, and a very warm (26°C according to BBC weather!) welcome to Lena, Marli and Kim, who joined us for their first GoodGym good deeds. And what a lovely evening to be out!

We started with a sociable run and walk around the Boyn Hill area, with options to run up and down four steep hills along the way. Kudos to Juli and Gemma for bagging all four. Then we headed to Boyne Hill School to meet task owner Ian and tackle various tasks in the playground.

Priority number 1 was a sandpit with a rotten bottom. A fence panel (we think) had been used as the floor but years of play had taken its toll and the wood had softened and splintered, making the sand unsafe. Kim, Gemma, Amy and Juli took on the job of digging out the rotten bottom and sieving the sand to remove the splinters. It might sound a-fence-sieve but it was incredibly satisfying and they made great progress. You might even say they were sieving the dream!

Meanwhile Lena and Marli did a fantastic job of clearing a big tub-full of weeds from the reception and pre-school playgrounds, before joining the sand team to help with the sieving. A sand-ing ovation for you two!

On the far side of the playground, Sophie, Gillian, Nicola and Kanika were equally busy with their job of sticking the leaves back on the trees. You might say it took a lot of bottle for the school to ask us to do this, and you would be right! In fact it probably took around 500 bottles, as these leaves were made of milk bottle caps, to top off the trees painted on the school wall. Well done to the tree team for finishing two out of the three trees. We hope to return to complete tree number three soon.

We finished at the school with a team photo and Ian said 'I would tell you all to smile, but you haven't stopped smiling all evening.' So true! A big thank you to Ian for welcoming us and giving us such enjoyable tasks.

We ended the session with a short walk back to our start location, a round of stretches and much excitement about the upcoming Endure24 festival, which lots of GoodGymers are preparing for this weekend. Good luck team!

What a beautiful sunny day! And what better way to spend it than painting the final coat on the Boyne Hill school gates in the wonderful company of Angie, Diya and Kanika?

We chatted about Sydney harbour, Arsenal football club, a pivotal meeting at a hen party in Brighton and everything in between.

Blue was the sky, blue were the gates, and blue were my fingernails and my forehead (how!?) but there was nothing blue about our moods at the end of such a lovely sociable morning.

Special mentions to Angie and Kanika on your 10th GoodGym good deeds! (and this is not to mention Kanika's GoodSAM app activities or Angie's family litter picking trips and school gardening missions outside of GoodGym!)

Well done team, and thank you to Jane and Ian for welcoming us and providing such a therapeutic task.

Another chilly evening but a fab group with lots of getting to know each other whilst giving the gates their first coat of blue paint. We met Ian who equipped us with all the equipment and set to work for 1.5 hours. This was new member Nicola’s second task with GoodGym and it was great getting to know her. We can’t wait to see you again Nicola. Paul and Angie made light-blue work of their section and we all came out relatively clean! All our fingers were feeling a bit numb by the end so called Ian just before Coronation Street started to wrap up (warm!) and set off on the short run/ walks home. It’s going to need another coat or two so look out for these listings if you’re keen to help!

Sophie, Laura, Allora and Louise met outside the school and we were greeted by Headteacher Jane who equipped us with undercoat paint, brushes and sandpaper ready to spruce up the main blue gates. We got to work sanding them and then adding the undercoat ready for the topcoat to be applied on Monday. It was freezing cold but we had a good natter and Jane kindly offered us hot drinks to warm us up! Thank you Jane and well done ladies on some hard work in very cold-gate temps!
