Seas the day…Summer is one in a melon
One by one we are all returning from our summer break with skin like beaches and cream and enough Vitamin C to last us till winter. Good to have a big team of runners tonight with Richa joining us for the first time and Chi visiting us from Haringey for a bit of GG tourism.
With this being a big birthday month for Goodgym we have a few things coming up that you might wish to get involved in:

Knock, Knock…who’s there?...Eyesore…Eyesore who?...Eyesore from my run
Well, maybe not too sore as we had a lovely short run to the task today. It was 1.5km from base and after our welcome brief and warm up, we set off through the parks of Slough with Ruth back marking for us.
On arrival, Super Sut met us with the equipment we needed to do the garden tidy up for our first ever visit to Crosby House Surgery. We were there on the Doctor’s orders to help them tidy up the front garden space as the weeds were starting to having a pulse of their own.
Weed better get a move on
With plenty of help tonight we got started and knowing that gardening helps to develop our muscle sprouts we put in the extra effort and dug deep and found the energy to clear the site.
One thing I have observed about two of our regular runners Jen and Pam is that they find an area of their own and will not stop until they have cleared the whole area. These two superstars literally scraped out every little weed along the front of the GP’s surgery….Even when we were nearing the end of our time there, they didn’t want to throw in the t-r-owel just yet!
You need a lot of patients to get through a task like tonight’s. These weeds had a life line of their own and cutting the blood supply wasn’t going to stop their nervous system from carrying on!
Within 45 minutes we really had made a massive impact at the surgery. The front area now looked amazing.
Job done, we set back off to base…but there was a surprise
Core you’re fit
Jenni let me into a little secret. Apparently Chi has a reputation! Upon meeting him, you would never guess, but underneath the charming exterior was a man…a man on a mission… a mission to inflict pain….pain in the core (I had a really nice glutes fitness session planned however, Chi insisted that my pain in the butt could be saved for next week).
So we headed into Baylis Park for the fitness session that Chi was going to inflict or undertake I should say. We had mountain climbers, planks, leg cross overs, knee tucks…you name it..he did it…he was kind enough to give us 7 seconds of rest…a whole 7 seconds (so much can be achieved in 7 seconds!).
Thank you Chi… we abs-olutely loved it!
Next week we have another nice local run and leaflet drop task. For those of you coming, please bring a lightweight set of dumb bells or water bottles for our resistance based fitness session.
PS - Thank you Jen for all the great puns tonight!
