Every autumn the Friends of Eaglesfield Park clear away vegetation from around the edges of the pond and growing in the pond to prevent the pond becoming overgrown. This includes removing invasive flag iris and reducing the size of the water lily. Some volunteers don waders and others work on the edge of the pond. Wellies are definitely an advantage.
