Goodgym Southwark headed over to Kelly Avenue Park. When we arrived we filling the trenches that had been dug the previous month, with the mulch and soil, which that had been delivered by the council, to form the hugelkulture.
As we moved the mulch and soil quicker than expected, using a repurposed bin and the might of Goodgymers carrying the big bags, we then proceeded to water the planted hedgerow, weed around the smaller trees and litter pick across the park.

A small group of us set off from Old Spike to Kelly Avenue Park to help Tracey. We were welcomed by some refreshments which we were all grateful for on such a hot day! Paulin and I spent the session litter picking and James, Andrada and Steve helped with weeding around the newly planted trees. We started and ended the session early so we could make it in time to watch England match!

On Wednesday a group of goodgymmers headed up to Kelly Avenue Park, where we met up with our task owner. This is the second time we've headed over to help. Like the first time, we were once again met with some showers during our task 🌧
Nevertheless, we managed to do quite a bit. We weeded planters, cleared around trees, and cut back some weeds around a bench. And the watering... Well, the weather took care of that.

5 good gymmers ran to Kelly Avenue Park to help Tracey prep the area for a big delivery of mulch. Digging 2 pits was quite the work out but Tracey kept us energised by generously handing out biscuits! We'll be back in June for part 2!
