Linda and Rachel were at Hillsborough Junior Parkrun as funnel manager and barcode scanner respectively.
Hannah and Andrew were at Olympic Legacy Junior Parkrun as timekeeper and funnel manager.
Lots of fun and thankfully dry weather! We even got a snazzy memento pen!

Run Directing, time-keeping and funnel managing done. Nailed. Sorted. For 99 children. GoodGymers owned the always hectic, often chaotic finish funnel with precise clicking, and assertive organisation. Children were cheered across the line including a just 4-year old running for his first time; no parents dared enter the funnel and all times were in synch with finish tokens. What teamwork!

Sheffield GoodGymers made their way to help out at their local parkruns. I went to a damp Monsal Trail where I was timekeeper. If it is raining, you have to keep your phone screen dry as the parkrun Volunteer App thinks the rain drops are finishers. Tip: Take an umbrella; put your phone in a bag; or put it in your pocket and use your earphone switch to record the times.

Timekeeping at a windy and chilly junior parkrun so that 74 young children could run, walk, skip round 2km and learn to love (or hate!) being active outdoors what ever the weather.

Michelle, Max and Linda helped at Hillsborough junior parkrun where 88 juniors crossed the line including 10 who were doing their very first parkrun.

10 Goodgymmers (+ partners and children) turned up this morning, eager to do their bit for the January challenge and help Hillsborough Juniors run smoothly. The volunteer roster was in fact so full that there were no roles left for GGers who decided the day before they wanted to sign up.
80 children came along, which is twice as many as in recent weeks. Perhaps it was New Year's resolutions. Perhaps they heard about the goody bags at the end! There were some very small 4 year olds, so kudos to them - it's a lot further on little legs (I sympathise)!
Well done to everyone, but especially Linda and Sarah for all their work at Hillsborough Juniors. Keep an eye out for next month's volunteer takeover (unless we sneak another one in before the end of January challenge!)
