Peckham Town FC

Looking for volunteers to help us get our ground and training ground ready for the new season.
Peckham Town FC is a dynamic catalyst for social regeneration creating a positive impact right across communities, whose main priority area is inclusion and young people. We use football's universal appeal to engage young people, including those with disabilities, in activities that give lasting benefits to their health, education and communities. All our initiatives are designed in partnership with users to allow young people to have fun whilst making a real difference to their lives.

Volunteer Day @ Peckham FC

Saturday 12th June 2021

Written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)

Duncan from Peckham FC called on GoodGym Southwark to help out with their annual Volunteer Day, which happens during the off season before the first friendly game, which is in a few weeks' time.

The task was to clean up the road going to the pitch and clubhouse of weeds and other green growth. There were two GoodGymers signed up for the task, but unfortunately it was just myself. Yet, I had company of the season ticket holders who came to help with the clean up.

There were other tasks at hand, yet the time zoomed by and before we knew it....pizzas were here! 🍕 Great way to end the task 😉

Game of Throw-Ins

Sunday 30th August 2020

Written by Southwark runner

GoodGym was asked back to Peckham Town FC this morning for the third in a successful summer series of tasks to help them out.

Welcome to all the new runners that joined us for the first time today. It was great to see so many new faces!

On arrival, we split into two teams. Most people stayed at the main clubhouse to dig some dirt and create the foundation of a new turnstyle and socially distanced bar area. Those of us that were more hesitant to volunteer for the tough work were transferred to the other clubhouse to paint the changing rooms.

The team were really happy with our work, and promised to sing the praises of GoodGym Southwark throughout the Borough. Keep an eye on Southwark News!

We were also invited to come back to watch a match. If you're keen I'll be in touch soon with more details.

Great work team.
