This evening we were welcomed by Leanne, Maze and GoodGym Minion Mascot Zoe for another lifting and loading session.
The A Team were in the hall armed with shopping lists and trolleys, packing food parcels ready for distribution at the next session on Friday.
In the warehouse, Team Sleepy took on some heavy lifting but limited brain power task of unloading a massive order that had just been delivered from the local Tesco. We did spice up the crate unpacking with challenging games of Tuna Tetris and Spaghetti Hoop Jenga. No GoodGymers, or donations, were harmed in this activity. Louisa was our champion lifter of the evening, those tough sessions at Strong Girls Club must be awesome!
We ended the evening with Ellie and Jen channeling their inner Ethan Hunt by commando rolling out from beneath the door shutter. We do love a dramatic exit here are GG Portsmouth!

The GG-ers were certainly jamming this morning! We couldn't jam any more activities in during our time at the foodbank.
With the delivery turning up just after the doors were opened, there was logistics in the warehouse. Fruit and mash that were empty on the packing line were rushed out. And the users were welcomed and made sure to feel comfortable with what they needed.

The 2 of us set to work packing up crates for the food bank users.
I lost count of how many we got through but the service was well stocked when we left.

As the foodbank was low on volunteers to cover the front and back of house of the service, Finnuala and I were left to continue filling the crates with the items needed for different sized households.

The parcels were coming through thick and fast as Team GG and the foodbank volunteers crated up numerous packs for the users.
Plenty of crates were emptied and restocked from the warehouse as the dollies were piled high (although well within the health and safety heights) with food parcels to cater for varying size families

No better way to beat the January blues than to put on the GG reds and do good.
