Week 5! Litter picking at Kennington cricket ground

We are so lucky to be working with Harriet and her litter picking group South London Litter Action (SOLLA). Harriet managed to secure funding for litter picking equipment and we had members of the local community join us for a very chilly litter picking session!

Once our toes and fingers were suitably frozen, we head to the cafe to get a hot drink to warm ourselves up!

Lotta litter

5 goodgymers were joined by some locals this week to do some litter picking in Kennington cricket ground. The park was much cleaner after last week’s haul but there were still lots of bottle caps and tiny pieces of plastic to collect. After an excellent 1.5hrs in the cold, we put our bags in the bin and headed to the cafe for a well deserved team tea!

Litter picking in Kennington

The four of us met up on the corner of the park and then set off in two groups of two. Some items we found: 2 garden chairs A gazebo skeleton Lots of planks of wood An arm chair Some (brand new) rowing oars Hundreds of Guinness bottle caps And of course lots of rubbish!
