Thank you very MULCH Woking GG members!!
This week we had the great pleasure of welcoming not one but TWO new members to our group run. Jackie and Rachael were welcomed last night by a surprise bootcamp session by Nick, we do hope you come back and join us and we didn't scare you off.
Last night we were back for our monthly task with Kingsmoor Housing developed. Every month we join Joesph and he gives us a task to help with the development. We had the job of laying some Mulch onto a planting area. It was a great surprise to him that we had a lovely turn out of people so we managed to complete our task a lot quicker than expected. Next month when we are there we will be working with the Wildlife trust and the development.
So after a run to the development and back we headed to Woking Park for a mini bootcamp session. A group of exercises - first round 30 sesconds to see how many you could do. After a lap round the park, we came back for round 2. This was to complete the highest number set by the person in round 1. After a mulch needed cool down lap and stretch we had made it!
Next week
We are heading to Woking Foodbank to help. This will be inside but we will be doing a workout in the park area after. Please get signed up to help a fantastic cause!
Good luck
Good luck to members who are taking part in races this weekend. We have Wayne taking on the Spartan Beast on Saturday - over 21km of obstacles and mud and I will be taking part in the Spartan Super on Sunday.
Fancy some more training....
You are all welcome to join us on a Thursday evening with Pack Fitness members - 7:30pm Pirbright Green - Ave De Cagny is the name of the road where there is a car park.

Woking GG helping out on Kingsmoor Housing estate
A big welcome to Lesley who joined us on her first GoodGym group run. It was lovely to meet you and we hope you can join us for some more group runs in the future.
This week we had a run to Kingsmoor housing estate to help preserve some wooden totem poles. There are three of them which the local schools helped to design and carve. As winter is around the corner and to help protect them from the cold winter we gave them two coats. This will help them last longer and hopefully be there for many other families to enjoy. So while Wayne, Cat and Lesley got bust painting.
It was the job of myself, Tiffany and Cat to help clear some woodland area which had a lot of rubbish and needed a good clear out. Whilst we helped clear the rubbish we were greeted by some of the lovely youths from around the estate and local area, who were keen to see what we were up to!
After the rubbish was cleared and the totem poles were looking like new again it was time to run back to the leisure centre.
5km was covered by Woking GG members tonight - well done!!
Next week
We are off to Derrys allotment to help maintain one of their plots. We look forward to seeing you there!!!
Goodluck
Goodluck to Cat who is taking on the Great North Run this weekend!
Hill Training
remember if you fancy some extra hill training - join us on Thursday evening - 7:30pm at the maultway carpark!

Which Way??
Two Woking GG Teams take on the whole of Kingsmoor Park Development
Last nights action took place in a new housing development in Woking. Joseph from Thames Valley Housing called on our help to help deliver 3 different leaflets to each house in the development. First we all got to enjoy a 3km jog to the development, it was a beautiful scenic route. I had no idea where I was for most the way there but it was nice to enjoy what Woking had to offer.
We arrived in the development, Joseph gave us an introduction and explained what the leaflets were aiming to do. It's very much building a community in such a new development. We split ourselves into two teams, each with a map and many leaflets we got to work. We managed to cover every house and flat and met some lovely people, cats and dogs along the way.
We are already booked in for two more good deeds with Kingsmoor, the next one will be in September and we will be at their allotment helping out.
After a shorter return journey back to Woking Leisure Center we managed to cover over 7km. And even with some cheeky Blackberry picking along the way.
Well Done every one for helping us manage to complete another Good Deed for Woking GoodGym. Remember to spread the word to your friends and drag them a long.
