After treating ourselves to an indoor briefing there was a short run, taking a little bit of a detour to the Open Door Centre. We heard about what a fantastic project the Open Door Centre is, offering a safe space for adults with learning difficulty as well as organising lots of trips and activities. One of the members Mark had taken up running and completed the Commonweal 5.
It wasn’t the most glamourous of tasks, toilet painting butt we had a good lav doing it. Talking of butts, Tracey's was well and truly painted! Well the issue was, it all got a bit cramped in the John. The problem really was a lack of Johns.
Out of the 9 GG’ers that turned up 7 were women and the women’s toilet was much smaller than the men’s. Now of course its perfectly fine for women to go in to a men’s toilet if they are painting it, but in this case the scouts were still in the hall and we had to allow them to finish first. Alethia crossed the divide and took on the urinal wall with the world’s smallest paintbrush, Jo chipped to finish the job.
This wasn’t a slap and dash affair either, three different colours were required on different walls. No rest-room for the wicked we worked flat out for 50 mins to get as much done as possible. Really great effort by everyone. A big improvement in a short time. Directly back to Oasis we wrapped up, apart from Paul and Fran who had to do a few extra loops due to setting themselves a Runvember minimum distance of 3 miles.
Next week we have a stack of leaflets to deliver in Broadgreen and we need your help! If you're interested, please sign up here and bring a friend! It's a 3km run; great for beginners and don't forget that Emily Crazy Legs will be leading the run next week so expect some drills for some extra fitness fun! Looking forward to seeing you all then!
