Van-tastic!

Monday 20th April

Written by Ellie (She/her)

We were delighted to have our first Monday evening session at Rose Road in in the daylight which made cleaning the outreach vehicles much easier. You could really see the sparkle! We split into two teams to get the interior and exterior of three vans done in no time at all. Welcome to S who did a great job on vacuuming duties. We hope to see you again soon.

Glue for it!

Monday 23rd February

Written by Ellie (She/her)

Tonight we were tasked with helping to tidy up the supplies in the fund raising section of the loft and creating an inventory for raffle prizes/donations. First of all we had to divide into Spreadsheeters and Non-spreadsheeters! Those with IT skills set to work listing the inventory while those with a bit less IT skills begun sorting through the stationary and craft supplies. We think we came up with some logical yet novel categories. Everyone will know where to go now to find "Pegs + sticks" and "Feathers + Pom Poms + foam"! We look forward to planning our Rose Road session for next month where we will have finally made it back to lighter evenings!

After a festive visit to Fordingbridge Recreation Ground parkrun and a very cold dip it was time to head to AFC Totton to support Rose Road fundraising. There were lots of steps doing laps of the football pitch with the charity bucket. Everyone was digging deep and in good spirits when Totton won the match! We look forward to hearing the total raised soon.

Claus for celebration!

Monday 8th December 2025

After all the festivities at the Rose Road Association Christmas Fair it was time for a big tidy up! We set to work sorting out the bottle tombola, locating parts of elf costumes, tidying refreshments away and sorting through donations. We even started sorting things out that Santa might like to use for next year’s grotto presents. We had just enough time left over for a group shot with scary Santa. We won’t look forward to seeing him again next year!

Elf help!

Saturday 6th December 2025

Written by Ellie (She/her)

We were very excited today to be invited to help the big man himself spreading cheer and giving out gifts to children and young people visiting the Rose Road Christmas Fair. We welcomed Barbara for their first task. Great to meet you Barbara - we can't promise we'll have such great outfits next time we see you! Derek was our lead money maker manning the grotto entrance while the rest of us were on greeting and present passing duties. It was lovely to see everyone having such a great time. Lucy was also tasked with keeping Santa jolly with cake and coffee. Next year we know we've got to get him the cake quicker! We all managed to have a wander round the stalls too and got quite lucky on the bottle tombola, but no luck on the raffle!
