Off the rails!
Three Goodgymers from Waltham Forest went to Traid charity shop to help them with a store refurb. Ramon, Ruby and Charlotte ran varying distances (Ramon and Ruby definitely ran furthest) and met at Traid on the High Street to help the team do a big spring clean and rotate their stock for the new season. They helped take the clothes from the rails to be packed in huge cardboard boxes, so the store could be cleaned, displays and rails could be moved around, and new stock could be put out. They also helped move some big boxes of shoes (Ramon found a pair he liked!) The trio made short work of the task and by 7pm had put on their running shoes (not the ones from the charity shop) and headed off into the night.

Another GoodGym favourite session at TRAID Walthamstow!
Upon arrival, we were instructed to get to work packing hangers away into large cardboard boxes and stacking them on packing crates to be shipped off.
After making light work of the first task, we set about loading piles of clothing into even bigger boxes to be sealed, lablleled and sent off. While not the easiest job for anyone unable to see over 5'7, Ercole took the lead on filling the taller boxes. While the boxes continued to pile up, Ramon shared his legendary knowledge on all things stretching, physio and discipline (seriously, if you're not up for the missions, at least come from the free PT sessions!)
Our superhero Helen arrived just in time for everyone's favourite part of TRAID missions: dressing up. While rifling through the smaller boxes to sort the clothing from the accessories, the team came across a few pieces that we just had to try on (hilarious photos to follow).
After a good fashion show and even better organising, we were done, dusted (literally) and ready to head home. TRAID sessions are always a group favourite and there are a few throughout the year so if this sounds like fun to you, keep an eye on the website!

Three goodgym volunteers made their way to the TRAID charity store in Walthamstow to help them clear out all the old stock.
We were quickly tasked with removing clothes from hangers and filling up boxes with clothes.
Ramon found it difficult to resist modelling a lovely tutu outfit!
Traid is a great charity that make sure clothes do not go to waste and educating people on a more sustainable clothing industry.
Soon enough the rails were empty and it was time to go - with @Becca off to try out the pub quiz at The Duke (might be a good future social option!!) and Ramon for a five mile walk.
We look forward to returning again in a few months!!

Another great evening packing up clothes at Traid and a short but intense little fitness session Once again there was a lot to do but we jumped at it with gusto!
Drop it like it's hot There was a lot of acitivity so we spent a full hour taking off the clothes off the racks, sorting out shoes and packing away clothes such as skirts, tops and trousers. Talking of trousers...We are now very experienced with 'dropping our trousers' but considering this was only the second good deed for Sophia, she really excelled at it;):
Quick burst of energy After we finished with the task Rosie, Sophia and Natasha made their way home by running and walking - great active travel! In the meantime Rachel, Rosalind, Rebecca, Ramon (the Four RRRR:)) and Julia easily jogged to the Town Square for some pre-dinner fitness activities: - We did two sets of interval sprints - 5 minutes each. Doesn't sound like a lot but folks were feeling the burn! - We did some arm strength exercises in between the sprinting - those triceps are going to say hello tomorrow;) - We finished with a nice stretch down!
//COMING UP AND ADMINNY BITS// Whatsapp group: We have a local whatsapp group for last minute information, some gifs and banter:) If you're not in the group and would like to join please let me know!
Next group run: Don't forget to sign up for next week's session HERE.
Next social: We thought it would be nice to grab some food together and catch-up over a cocktail or a mocktail! Come along by signing up here.

Traid charity shop had a sale on and needed our help to take all remaining clothes off the hangers and pack them away - it's a big shop with lots of racks of clothing so it was great luck we had a big group show up to help! And try on some clothes....
This was an energetic session with a great arm workout from lifting piles of clothes into big boxes!
Long time no see It was great to see Rosalind back helping the community and jogging after being away - great to have you back!
1st time - Welcome Lianne This was a first session for Lianne and it was a pleasure to have her - Welcome Lianne!
Post task jog: Once we finished at the shop, Rosalind, Ercole, Saj, Lianne and Julia went for a leisurely jog clocking up 3.6km, what a great way to work up an appetite for dinner!
