This week's task at the Masbro Centre sounded simple enough: put up some shelving. Easy... right? 😅
We were handed our first box with optimism, only to open it and discover... four sheets of plywood. 🤔 Not quite the shelving extravaganza we'd been expecting!
Cue a mini detective mission 🕵️♀️🕵️♂️ as we searched the building to solve the mystery of the missing shelving. After checking cupboards and storage spaces, success! 🎉 Hidden away in the sports cupboard were five flat-packed shelving units patiently waiting for their moment.
With the correct box finally located, it was time to get building. Armed with a mallet 🔨, a hammer 🛠️, plenty of determination 💪, and the perfect construction team of two gentlemen and a lady 👷♂️👷♂️👷♀️, we set to work.
As it turns out, assembling one of these shelving units isn't exactly a speed event! After just over an hour of tapping, hammering, slotting pieces together, and carefully fitting the plywood shelves into place, we proudly stood back to admire... one fully assembled shelving unit! 🎉👏
Our brand-new shelving has now been safely stored, ready for its permanent home in the sports cupboard. With four more flat-packs waiting in the wings, we've set ourselves up perfectly for next month's return, where we'll be aiming to beat our current tally of one shelf per evening! 😄
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, brought their enthusiasm, patience, and excellent DIY skills. Same time next month to tackle the next chapter of the Great Shelving Adventure! 💚💪

Last night’s volunteering session at Masbro Centre felt a bit like stepping into a mystery novel...
After arriving, we were led through a door that many of us had never even noticed before. Behind it lay the "Secret Garden" – and secret it certainly was! 😄
What we found was a space that had seen better days. There were pots everywhere, evidence of some ambitious gardening attempts, weeds making themselves very much at home, and plenty of plastic and waste scattered around. It was less "Secret Garden" and more "Secret Jungle!" 🌱🪴
Not to be deterred, the team got stuck in straight away. 💪
🗑️ We cleared four large black bags of waste.
🌿 We depotted plants and removed weeds that had taken over.
🧹 We swept the floor until it was clean and welcoming again.
🪑 We cleared and cleaned the benches.
🔧 We organised the shed so everything now has a proper home.
🪴 We carefully arranged the pots neatly to one side, making the whole area look far more inviting.
The transformation was incredible. What started as a cluttered and forgotten corner is now a bright, tidy and welcoming outdoor space where the nursery children can learn, explore and enjoy being outside. 🌞
A fantastic evening of teamwork, plenty of laughs, and a real before-and-after success story. The Secret Garden is a secret no more—and it's looking better than ever! 🌿✨

What a session! We met at Shepherds Bush station and made our way over to the Masbro Centre for a proper spring clean. 💪
The task list was packed: we tackled the windows till they sparkled, swept the outside areas, hoovered the corridors, cleared all the tree debris, and made sure the plants got a good watering 🪟🧹🪴. Everyone got stuck in and the place looks so much brighter.
Big shoutout to Kesani on their first GoodGym run tonight! 🎉 We had a great chat about AI on the walk over. And reminder: you can absolutely walk to the task if running isn't your thing - all paces welcome. 🚶♀️🏃♂️
We even had a mini photoshoot courtesy of Rob 📸 - check out the photos in the report for our best cleaning poses and victory smiles!
Well done to everyone who came out. Masbro Centre is looking fresh and ready for the community thanks to you all! 🙌

Last night’s task at the Masbro Centre felt a bit like opening a mystery box… except the mystery was just how much stuff could possibly fit into one sports cupboard. Spoiler alert: A LOT.
We decided it was time to tackle the other half of the cupboard, and wow—what a collection. We uncovered a whole fleet of cars, buggies, motorbikes, and enough kids’ toys to start our own mini theme park. Naturally, the only way forward was to take everything out first… cue organised chaos.
Once emptied, it was time to get stuck into the clean. And when I say brooms galore, I mean it—there were sweeping tools in every direction as we gave the inside a proper refresh. Dust didn’t stand a chance.
Huge shoutout to Cristina for smashing her very first Group Run! Not only did she dive straight into the action, but she also took charge of the leaf blower like a pro. With that fired up, we wrapped up the cupboard in no time and moved on to clearing the sports hall floors of leaves—strangely satisfying, not going to lie.
The whole evening just worked. Great teamwork, good vibes, and everything flowing smoothly from start to finish. Plus, bonus points for the run to and from the station—cardio and good deeds all in one session.
Thanks again everyone—absolute dream team energy.
Have a lovely Easter all 🐣

Tonight's mission: tackle the chaotic sports cupboard at the Masbro Centre 🤯! We had a crack team on the job – welcome to new member Victoria 🎉, and shoutout to Matthew for joining us all the way from Wandsworth 👋! We also had Jalal, the unsung hero of heavy lifting
The plan was simple: empty the cupboard, sort the mess, and put it all back like pros 🧹. Victoria took charge of the balls – footballs, ping pong, soft balls, rugby, tennis... we had a mini Olympics in there! She's a bit of a ball whisperer, it turns out.
Meanwhile, Matthew was the master organiser, slotting items into their perfect spot on the shelves . Jalal was the engine, ferrying stuff back and forth like a pro. We made a killer team 💪!
End result? The sports cupboard is looking ✨sorted✨. Big thanks to everyone for pitching in – can't wait to see what we tackle next !

Last night we braved the chilly weather for a speedy task at Masbro Centre, where we received a lovely warm welcome from Camille — very much appreciated given how cold it was out there! 🥶✨ It was also great to have Mariella join us for her first session in the area — welcome to the neighbourhood! 👋
Our main mission was to sweep the leaves from the car park, and we wasted no time getting stuck in. Armed with brooms and determination 🧹💪, we worked fast to keep warm and managed to fill three whole bags of leaves in just 25 minutes — not bad at all! 🍂🍂🍂
Cold but productive, this was a brilliant quick-win task and a great start for Mariella in the area. Big thanks to everyone involved, and to Masbro Centre for having us — until next time! 🌟
