I was one of four volunteers including three GoodGymmers who visited the Vauxhall Garden Community Centre to help with the Thursday preparation of food items that will be distributed at their Friday foodbank.

Before the main delivery arrived we start to cut up and bag the large delivery of bread that had been delivered.

The main delivery then followed. Amongst the deliveries which included of carrots, cabbages, limes, corn cobs, a large quantity of doughnuts, the foodbank received a box of cereal branded from the Netflix programme Squid Games.

We successfully completed the task in preparation for the foodbank.

It’s heartwarming to see everyone coming together to prepare for the many visitors tomorrow. It’s been a day filled with effort and care, and I can’t wait to see it all come to life as we share food and connection with everyone on Friday. Today I volunteered at the Vauxhall foodbank serving the local community, it was a very enjoyable session.

Alongside Vauxhall FB regular volunteers, the Goodgymers assisted with unpacking, packing and preparing food donations for tomorrow's FB session.

Arrived as all the food was prepared for clients. Put some pulled pork into containers and cut up some frozen brownies into bags. Spending time around frozen items was a godsend on a day like today.

This mission usually takes a bit over an hour. They could really use more volunteers since they have a lot of deliveries to manage for over 90 people! It’s a wonderful opportunity to see how our community can unite and have a positive impact. Can come together and make a positive impact.
