Coventry Report written by Laura Denham
Tonight, we took to the crown green for a splendid game of bowls, hosted by Scott, his son James and the Chairman Dave. With their expert guidance, we embarked on a journey to find out more about this classic sport. We each picked our own bowl—varying in size and weight—and dove into the challenge. Some of us rolled with ease, while others discovered that aiming for the Jack is trickier than it seems. As we took our turns, the laughter and friendly competition flowed freely. It was fun to try something different and was enjoyed by everyone.
As the bowling season is coming to an end we will see if we can test out our skills again in the spring and they may have a task or 2 for us to help out with too.
Thank you for a lovely night everyone :)

Six enthusiastic GoodGymers set out on a bright, sunny evening to lend a hand at the community green growthers’ allotment.
Anne joined her first group run with Jill and Laura, and together they met up with James, Georgia, and Dale, who were already hard at work.
James had connected with the task owner and briefed us on what needed to be done. This was our second visit, and the allotment looked fantastic with a bounty of produce thriving. Dale had already begun propping up the tomato plants with canes, while Georgia sorted sticks into piles to clear space.
Anne and Jill teamed up with Georgia and James, tackling stick shifting and compost sifting with a new rotary sifter. Laura joined Dale with the tomatoes, quickly discovering she was better at tying the plants to the canes than pushing them into the soil.
To wrap up, we used the large sticks from the piles to build a squash teepee trellis, securing it with freshly driven compost. Dale gave the thirsty plants a good watering, and we headed back, feeling accomplished.
Nice work *****
