Clutter to Clarity ✨

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Cheski Kennedy (she/her)

Last night was such a rewarding session supporting single parent families at Bassuah Legacy Foundation 💛

We rolled up our sleeves and got stuck in:

📚 Matthew worked his magic by creating a brand-new book section — turning multiple piles of books into something findable!

🧹 Jalal tackled the back steps, giving them a much-needed sweep and making the space cleaner and safer.

♻️ Cristina & I took on the kitchen donation area — and wow, what a transformation! We sorted everything from recycling to items ready for sale, bringing order to the chaos.

🛍️ Altogether, we cleared over 10 reusable bags of items! That’s a huge win — it’ll save Tina so much time and help her get more items out for sale to support the foundation’s work 🙌

Proud of the team and already looking forward to the next one! 💪✨

Cupboard Chaos to Clean Sweep 🧹

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Cheski Kennedy (she/her)

Last night’s task at the Masbro Centre felt a bit like opening a mystery box… except the mystery was just how much stuff could possibly fit into one sports cupboard. Spoiler alert: A LOT.

We decided it was time to tackle the other half of the cupboard, and wow—what a collection. We uncovered a whole fleet of cars, buggies, motorbikes, and enough kids’ toys to start our own mini theme park. Naturally, the only way forward was to take everything out first… cue organised chaos.

Once emptied, it was time to get stuck into the clean. And when I say brooms galore, I mean it—there were sweeping tools in every direction as we gave the inside a proper refresh. Dust didn’t stand a chance.

Huge shoutout to Cristina for smashing her very first Group Run! Not only did she dive straight into the action, but she also took charge of the leaf blower like a pro. With that fired up, we wrapped up the cupboard in no time and moved on to clearing the sports hall floors of leaves—strangely satisfying, not going to lie.

The whole evening just worked. Great teamwork, good vibes, and everything flowing smoothly from start to finish. Plus, bonus points for the run to and from the station—cardio and good deeds all in one session.

Thanks again everyone—absolute dream team energy.

Have a lovely Easter all 🐣

Hanging Around 👗

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Cheski Kennedy (she/her)

Tonight's GoodGym group run at Bassuah Legacy Foundation was a blast! 🚀 This fantastic charity shop in our community does incredible work supporting single-parent families, and we love to lend a hand.

First off, huge welcome to Eli our newest group member, on her first outing with us 🎉! And great to see Chau rocking her new bright red GoodGym shirt!

We dived straight into action, tackling the shop's stockrooms and displays. Matt was our shoe whisperer, meticulously searching and pricing up footwear to ensure Tina, the lovely owner, gets the best price possible for her stock 💸. Meanwhile, the rest of us hung as many clothes as we could, though we did have a mini challenge tracking down enough hangers 😅 – it's like they vanish into thin air, right?

We also managed to help make a sale! Two DVDs found new homes - it's always a great feeling knowing our efforts are making a real difference to the shop and the community it supports.

Big thanks to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm 💚

We don’t drop the ball ⚽️

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Cheski Kennedy (she/her)

Tonight's mission: tackle the chaotic sports cupboard at the Masbro Centre 🤯! We had a crack team on the job – welcome to new member Victoria 🎉, and shoutout to Matthew for joining us all the way from Wandsworth 👋! We also had Jalal, the unsung hero of heavy lifting

The plan was simple: empty the cupboard, sort the mess, and put it all back like pros 🧹. Victoria took charge of the balls – footballs, ping pong, soft balls, rugby, tennis... we had a mini Olympics in there! She's a bit of a ball whisperer, it turns out.

Meanwhile, Matthew was the master organiser, slotting items into their perfect spot on the shelves . Jalal was the engine, ferrying stuff back and forth like a pro. We made a killer team 💪!

End result? The sports cupboard is looking ✨sorted✨. Big thanks to everyone for pitching in – can't wait to see what we tackle next !

A Thread-mend-ous Evening 🧣

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Cheski Kennedy (she/her)

Last night’s mission to Bassuah Legacy Foundation was stitched together beautifully — and honestly? We absolutely nailed it.

We kicked things off at Shepherd’s Bush station with our usual pre-task buzz. Huge shoutout to Ali on their very first GoodGym session! You didn’t just show up — you showed out. And welcome to your first Group Run Jasmine and Jalal. First time experiencing the magic that is controlled chaos in a charity shop… and you handled it like pros. Consider yourselves officially initiated.

Once inside, we got straight to work supporting Bassuah’s incredible mission of uplifting and empowering single families in need. Our task? Bring order to the kingdom of donations. And oh, did we deliver.

  • Tops were tamed

  • Hats were herded

  • Scarves were sorted

  • Bedding was beautifully bundled

We worked like a dream team — coordinated, considerate, and efficient — even while honouring Tina’s (very firm!) request that we not move things around too much. Did that stop us from being effective? Absolutely not. We organised with precision. We shuffled strategically. We maximised impact within our “minimal movement” brief.

And because we can’t help ourselves, we’ve already started brainstorming ways to transform the basement storage into additional selling space. More rails, clearer layout, better flow — imagine the fundraising potential! Watch this space… we’ve got plans.

Same time next month — comfy clothes, positive energy, and plenty more good vibes.🙌
