This was a fantastic mission, joining forces with a number of Brixton organisations for a community litter pick. Multiple different groups met at different areas of Brixton for a simultaneous clean-up. This was part of a youth-led initiative, set up by young people at the Marcus Liptrot Community Centre, and attended by local residents, borough councillors, police officers - and Goodgymers!
Six Goodgymers, representing Lambeth, Ealing, Croydon and Brent, met in Windrush Square, collected our litter pickers and high-vis, and headed off to St Matthew’s church gardens. After an hour of solid litter-picking we had filled several bags of rubbish. Shout out to Steph who ran 27km to be there, and to Harvey who hit his incredible 1000th mission earlier that same morning! What an achievement!
After our hour was up we headed back to base, and it was amazing to see just how much could be achieved in a short space of time. Well done everyone!

This week our heroic band of litter-busting legends descended upon Rush Common for what can only be described as a TRASH-tastic adventure! 💪
Tom from Lambeth Council had issued the call, and boy did we answer it with bells on (and brand new fancy litter pickers in hand)! ✨
Our crack team split into two elite units:
🏆 Cutest GGer Award goes to Jo’s baby boy - proving that community spirit starts young! This little champion showed us all how to be absolutely adorable while saving the planet 👶✨
🔍 Discovery of the Week: Adam cracked the code on the mystical “bottle top pop technique” - apparently it’s all in the tap! Who knew physics could be so satisfying? Pop goes the litter! 🍾
A massive shout-out to our regular crew of community champions:
Another week, another park transformed from trashy to classy! Rush Common is now sparkling clean thanks to our incredible volunteers who know how to have a rubbish (good) time while making a real difference!
Until next week, keep running and keep doing good! 🏃♂️💚
GoodGym Lambeth: Where fitness meets civic duty, and puns are always encouraged! 😄

Jenny, Ruth, Dottie and Lucy met on a warm October night for bag packing at St Faith’s, to continue our help with Andrea’s Get Rid and Donate charity drive.
Tonight, we packed up small toiletries bags from peoples donations of shampoos, shower gels, socks, hats, face masks and other small hygienic products, for Andrea to give out at the Strand tomorrow night to the rough sleepers. We bagged up about 30 little bags in total, all stuffed full!
We also met a very friend fluffy Ginger cat 🐱 🐈

Dottie Allan earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Dottie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Dottie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
