Eight GoodGymers helped out with packing away tables and sorting through rotting veg after a busy evening at the food hub.
Loved the random assortment of food up for grabs including some vegan train food. Some of us went home very well stocked which is always an added bonus.
Nice to see some new faces and hope you got a good taster of what we get up to.

Echo is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.
Thursday 20th August

Echo earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Echo completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Echo was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

This week we had not one but TWO first time GoodGymers join us for the tree watering task!
Echo and Serafima immediately got stuck in and soon had the hang of the hosepipe (permitted despite the hosepipe ban because we're watering young trees planted in the last 3 years).
Hosepipe handling skills are measured in the number of fellow volunteers who get sprayed (or preferably don't get sprayed) with water during the bottle filling stage of proceedings.
With each tree receiving 15-20ltrs or 1 ltr per sapling there's a lot of bottles to fill and refill, so plenty opportunity to hone these skills.
Despite the rain forecast, we'll be back next Wednesday to do it all again.
