4 of us distributed three hundred leaflets around the city centre and parts of St David’s this afternoon to help spread the word about FoodCycle’s free community meals on Tuesday evenings.
We’ll be doing this again in the next few weeks to finish off the area so look out for another community mission!

This task will increase guest outreach, resulting in more nutritious free meals being served per week to people in need. This will in turn use up surplus food so it doesn't go to waste. It is also a social event which helps combat loneliness.

3 goodgymmers helped out on a fab project this afternoon.
St Petrock's homeless charity in Exeter is opening a pop-up re-use, training and education hub/charity shop this week and we helped them get it ready for opening day.
The new hub will provide volunteering and training opportunities for their existing clients and education for the community around homelessness.
While Florence and Craig emptied a huge tub full of soil and moved it to the back of the building, Rachel spray painted display units. We then went inside to paint doors and skirting, polish handles, frame photographs and more.
It was great to be help out today and we hope their new venture goes really well!

Petrock's Place will have a large impact by providing an outlet that the community can learn about issues of homelessness and sustainable fashion. People can engage with workshops, how to upcycle and repair and mend their clothes.

3 GoodGymmers spent a beautiful, sunny evening helping out with various tasks at Newtown Community Pre-school in order to make the playground, garden and car park ready for the start of the new term. We got loads done in a short space of time despite there being only 3 of us- thanks for all your hard work guys!

5 GoodGymmers were warmly welcomed at Newtown Community Association to prepare an area of ground for a wildflower garden. Members of the association are planning to plant a wildflower garden to increase biodiversity, attracting bees and butterflies. They have been struggling due to small volunteer numbers, so we were able to help out by lifting the grass and weeds to leave space for seeds to be planted. Judith and her friend Margaret from the association were fantastic, treating us to snacks and drinks and even a specially created banner (a first for GoodGym Exeter I think!)
