Tonight 9 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 4km to support St Matthew's Church. It was our first visit here, and the route included a jog up Gas Hill!
Once we arrived Reverend Patrick showed us the tools and asked if there were any 'Happy choppers'? Which at GoodGym the answer is always yes!
He directed us to the overgrown areas of the car park, and the borders in front of the church, and we got to work clearing weeds and brambles so that the entrance signs could be seen more clearly.
Also inside the church an Easter display needed dismantling, including a number of large stones to be carrier back into the garden. In no time at all, both tasks were completed with a sense of satisfaction comparing the before and after photos... We were also offered refreshments of tea & biscuits!
Shout outs to Francesca for completing her 10th task, and Emily reaching 100 Good Deeds!! Marvelous work everyone.

Tonight 10 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 6km to the Phoenix Community Centre.
It was a busy venue, we were working alongside kick boxing, drama classes and a choir rehearsal!
Our task was to continue painting the corridor, tidying up weeds and leaves and cleaning a children's play house outside.
We split into 2 groups to work indoors and out, whilst all the activities were taking place. In a hour, 4 walls were freshly painted and 3 bags of weeds were filled!
Shout out to Sai who attended her second task, in a smart new GoodGym t-shirt! Well done everyone.

Tonight 11 GoodGymer's ran 6km to support EACH charity store on Alysham Road.
On our first visit to this store, we were asked to help clear all Winter sale items from the shelves to make way for new Spring stock - but with a twist.
We each collected 10 sale items in matching sizes and placed them into bags so that they could be sold as £5 'mystery bags' in store. This created lots of fun, finding the correct sizes and choosing a variety of clothing.
After an hour 35 bags had been filled!
It was also Ian's 200th Good Deed this evening, so a few of us celebrated with Pizza at the end of the night!

Tonight 8 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 5km to Greenfield Community Centre - home of Baby Bank Norfolk.
We returned to finish painting the Tansy room, that we had started at the beginning of the year. So picked up where we left off with paint rollers, applying a second coat of Frosted Steel which was very satisfying.
It was a fun task to see how many GoodGymer's could fit in a small space with a paint brush!
This room, along with the rest of the venue, was originally painted a mustard yellow so it is now getting a new brighter feel. After an hour the room was complete, so we cleaned up and headed home en mass.
We will be returning to this venue again in a few months time for more painting & gardening tasks.
