Welcome to Haimish for your first GoodGym Manchester session 👏

Change of plan this evening with Ella from Heaton Park not available last minute for animal centre painting, so instead the fab 4 had an evening stroll and litterpick around Heaton Park.

Nice evening jaunt from the Stables Cafe across the fields, past the Highland Cows, and through the undergrowth to unearth lots of discarded bottles, plastic cups, and crisp packets.

3 bags of rubbish in total, with a few challenges of "guess the litter" and "find something purple" thrown in for good measure.

Lights drawing in with lots of animals (squirrels, rabbits, cows, and the odd donkey) in the park. Hoping to rearrange the painting soon, so watch this space.

Tonight 13 of us ran from Heart down to Left Bank (after a little detour from Katie)!

The staff asked us to sand down and paint benches with pink & red stripes. We got to work and the benches looked great; the staff are going to gloss them tomorrow to finish them off.

Afterwards, Left Bank kindly gave us a drink each as a thank you, which were gratefully received.

Tonight 11 GoodGymers ran up to Bedford Fields where we did a variety of tasks involving a pond, a couch and sticky weed!

One group created a larger mound for the edge of the new pond, some of the boys took great satisfaction in breaking up an old couch and some of us pruned and pulled up lots and lots of sticky weeds.

There were many nettle stings and a few crawling insects but Jubz did his obligatory pose with not only a spade but with sledge hammer too, so all is well with the world!

We welcomed Nazia to GoodGym tonight, we hope to see you again soon!!

We made a big impact in an hour so well done all!!

Tonight we ran from Heart down to St Stephen's Church Hall to once again weed and tidy up the garden for Kirkstall Valley Development Trust.

We cleared the garden a few weeks ago so we just did a general tidy up to keep the area tidy.

Kirkstall Valley Development Trust is an inclusive Community Benefit Society whose aims are to support the local community of Kirkstall. Working from two locations – a community hub, where the food pantry is located, and also from the farm – they are run by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who run activities, events, campaigns and services to benefit the community and bring people together.

It was nice to meet & welcome newcomers Kate & Chris this evening; welcome to GoodGym Leeds :)

We even got home in time to support England in the football for those who wanted to.

Tonight was our biggest Wednesday group since I started! 14 of us headed to help Homeless Hampers to sort through their donations.

We had many jobs between us; we helped unpack & sort donations in the van, we took many many shoes & found pairs for them & sorted them into sizes, we found donations of clothes to give out to homeless people in Leeds, we sorted bundles of towels & sheets into piles & most importantly we ate KitKats!

We nearly had a 15th member when we found traces of a mouse who had been living in a shoe! Fortunately, it decided not to make an appearance...phew! :)

Welcome to newcomers Jeremy & Hashim & welcome back Haimish & Leah to their second sessions. Kat completed her 60th good deed tonight & Uzair did his 10th! Well done & thanks for all you do for GoodGym Leeds.
