It was nice to have ten Goodgymers meet at the care home this month for the quiz ,plus James and Chloe brought Goodgyms new recruit along there baby daughter which was nice to see plus the residents loved to see her.It was nice to be able to have Three teams. I must thank Keith for doing a round which was pub names cricket where if the name of the pub was an animal you had to guess how many legs the animal or animals had, this was fun.In total we had 4 rounds,Keiths round a picture round a spelling round plus a round on sweets.Everyone enjoyed themselves which is what its all about. The scores where very close,The Loose Women had 29, No Idea had 31,but the winners where The Outsiders with 34 so it was all very close.Thank you all for coming along and making it a good evening.

Oops… the World and his Wife descended very early on the beach today, so that us Goodgymmers combined with a few Bournemouth Ploggers decided to stay well clear of that crazy area. And yet there was still plenty enough to litterpick: a sink (?), a wrench (yay, for being useful to Harry) and two bicycle frames were among the unusual stuff. For the rest: yes, butts (!!!), cans, bottles, tissues, sweet wrappers…. The chine, the viewpoint, the car park and some surrounding roads were scoured by the nine of us. Plenty picked, lots sweated, so a cool drink and icecream in Keith and Lea’s garden was very welcome. Thank you everyone for turning up on this crazy “walk over the heads beach” day. I will try and be more careful when planning our next litterpick!!! Council has been informed of the flytipping pile, 🤞 they have time to remove it!

Millie, Sophie, Emma, Harry, Eleanor, Daryl, Roger, Keith and Lea all got together at Langside School where Nick had more tasks for us to do. Cham, new to Goodgym and to all of us, managed to find us and was raring to go. Sylvie arrived “a tad” 🤪 later…. To summarise today’s task: we were cutting, grabbing and tossing! Cutting A LOT, sweeping A LOT, grabbing A LOT, and the best part of it: tossing A LOT!!! The taller than tall hedge at the front of the school was attacked by the strimmer together with Harry and Daryl, with Cham sweeping to his heart’s content. Millie, Sophie and Emma got busy cutting back the rosemary bush and the garlic…making the air fill with lovely smells. At the back Keith started off cutting back major bushes on the edge of the playground. He was joined by the front squad and later on by Sylvie. Oh and not to forget about Roger: our ACE jetwasher, attacking the dirt on another classroom. As photos show: we got an awful lot done; very much appreciated by Nick who rewarded us with some sweet smelling bathbombs. What a Lush smell 🤗 And… Eleanor was proudly showing off her 50 good deeds tshirt! 😃 Thanks everyone for all your hard 💪 work!

Harry completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Harry was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Seven Goodgymers meet at Muscliffe Park to help the Parks Foundation set up for the Holi event they helped put on for the Hindu community put on to bring every one together to celebrate Holi and all the colour's . We started by helping to put up gazebos and fencing round the DJ 's gazebo.A group went off to find some sticks so some ribbons could be tied to them for the children could wave them, another group went off to pick some petals to be placed in windows cut out of card we did so much in helping to get this event up and running. My what an event it was full of colour dancing and lovely food. The parks foundation could not thank us enough for all our help.
