18 GoodGym Superstars ran 6k to give 300 pieces of fruit to Westminsters homeless community.
On a chilly January evening we welcomed a bumper group to the party!! Great to have our new runners along for the run!
Sorting out our various carrying techniques before we started we loaded up with all the fruit brought along by our amazing runners!!
Loaded up 300 pieces of fruit Strong we smoothly glided around some of Central London’s busiest roads seeking out those in need of a helping hand this evening.
Running through Carnaby Street, Piccadilly, Soho, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and taking stock in Charring Cross. Expert fruit delivery and nice to have a quick chat we were able to pump up a lot of people’s Vitamin C and Potassium levels!!
With the feel good factor in full effect and the roads a little less crowded we powered our way down to Big Ben and the Victoria Station to give out the last of our stores.
Powering back up to Oxford Street lead by Francis to get back to base as the bells run 8 rounding off a quality GoodGym Evening!!
Hope you all had as much fun as me and sure you are over counting up to 18 but thank you all for coming out and making a major impact on so many peoples evenings.
Thank you for bringing along all the fruit it made the evening!!
Looking forward to February’s food Running session already!! Remember if you have any ideas for what to take around next time give me a shout or put it to the group 2 weeks out when we will make our final decision!!
Hope to see you next week when we visit St Andrews Youth Club the oldest in the world with a 2.5k ran each way in store.
Have a great week

13 sizzling GoodGymers ran 5k to St Andrews Youth Club to help keep the gym in top shape and threw in a double dose of shuttle running circuits.
A smoking hot evening in London Town provided a great setting for a few GG first timers! We headed off through the busy Central London streets working the pace as we made our way to The Mall for a series of shuttle sprints and high powered body weight exercises.
After our heart rates were jumping and the shuttles got a little competitive it was time to make our way to St Andrews Youth Club to help them out for the evening.
Unfortunately we were not able to do the task as planned as the hall was already in use so we gloved up and cleaned our way to glory in the busy gym. Working our magic we made the room sparkle our help is vital in allowing the Youth Club thrive by focusing the limited funding on activities for young people rather than maintaining the building.
Then we were off, heading up to Green Park to attack 12 minutes of body weight circuits! Smashing out Three 30 second efforts in a row of a Core blast, CV crusher and Leg basher increased the fitness big time before we ran back to base for a stretch out.
Great work everyone! Hope to see you all next week for our visit to One Big Family Homeless charity to help prepare the food for the evenings food drop!

16 Westminster GoodGymers ran 7k to One Big Family Homeless Charity in Victoria to make the food for the evenings Soup kitchen.
On a beautiful Spring evening we welcomed a flock of Goodgym Newbies for their maiden outing.
After a introduction in the New Balance store we headed South through the sights, sounds and many many people who were out and about in Central London.
Weaving our way past Palaces and through parks we made our way 3.5k to Ebury Estate where we met up with One Big Family legend Mike!
A quick wash of the hands and we orchestrated an efficient and compact production line producing 3 loaves of Jam sandwiches, 3 loaves of Cheese sandwiches, 36 buns of Vegetarian Ham, cut up 150 slices of pizza bread and 50 slices of cake. All bagged up, allergy dotted and stacked up in 25 minutes!!
A quick wash up and we were off back through the slightly quieter streets back to base. Picking up the pace at the front and maintaining a steady rhythm at the back smashed through the first 2k of the run back before ** Unleashing Fury** on the Green Park drag with some powerful 500m efforts from everyone all the way up the slope to the gates of recovery!!
A relaxed jog back from there was well earned and a stretch and a clap and we were done!!
Great effort tonight! Hope to see you along for the run next week! Be great to have you along to the Special Easter Egg give away where we will run around town handing out Spring cheer to the homeless and youngest kids at St Andrews Youth Club. If you are able to bring along a donation or 2 no matter how big or small it will be great!!
