Newham Report written by Sharon
A slight delay to tonights mission as we helped Brad and Jade with a video shoot for a friends birthday.
Basia had a couple of tasks for us,continued tree planting and sanding and painting of the dockside railing.
David,Claudia, Brad and Rosa took on the planting task.
Hilary,Graham,Jade,Kevin and I,headed to the dockside and Basia explained what she needed us to do.......Once the sanding was finished Kevin swapped places with Rosa.
The two teams joined forces for some final sanding and painting.
Tonight was a double 100 event with David and Brad both reaching this milestone...so double cake goodness.
We will be back dockside next week for more sanding and painting.
Not sure we will top the Vindaloo warm up!

So due to unforseen circumstances today became our last visit to the Crisis warehouse.
A very warm welcome from Richard to greet us on this chilly day, after a quick catch up we headed to Bay 3 for our final packing assignment.
Helen and I had the task of repacking and listing the craft items....it seems crafting and paper was not enough information for the spreadsheet bosses.....Richard had helped by part unpacking the cages for us.
Paul,Kevin and Graham had the task of PPE packing....so many face masks Hilary and Rosa counted and packed away the hand sanitiser units.
A great morning of work and we headed of for lunch.
Some additional personnel arrived for the final push
Brad and Ryan joined the PPE sorting and counting.
Jade, Kelsey and Grace helped with the craft sorting.
John and Becky headed to the office areas to dismantle white boards and pack away mugs and kettles.
The office team and the PPE teams had great fun shrink wrapping the filled pallets ready for them to be collected to go into storage ready for Christmas 2021

A long with a bunch of other Goodgymers I volunteered at the Crisis at Christmas take down. Helen
Lots of goodgymers pitching in to help dismantle the Crisis at Christmas warehouse this weekend.
We had Peter and Aidan taking picnic tables down to pieces and packing into containers, the ambition was to get them into just 3 containers... they did it in 2, EEEE-ZEH!... Kitchen areas cleared and cardboard sorted into the recycling (that bit's very important).
Hilary,Helen , Chris and Tina(we salute you) were tearing up miles and miles of carpet tiles.
Graham, Rosa,Siobhan,Nickand John were on printers in the morning - testing them for toner... making sure they were toned up like the goodgymers!
Brad, Tori,Jade Kelsey, Kevin, Sharonand Paul were working on sorting out the remaining donations, including a footy umbrella
Break for lunch, bake off between Hilary (brownies) and Rosa (cookies) because both are approaching milestone numbers of tasks - whoop whoop!
After lunch there was a hilarious amount of flooring to be taken up in the warehouse, I'm no expert but I'd estimate at least 100,000 square metres. Team printers and team carpet tiles joined forces to tackle it and Paula entered the fray bringing Spanish flair to the exercise. All had to be stacked in a very particular way, time consuming, but got there in the end. And the reward was neatly folding enormous carpets.
All then had to be shrink wrapped...An exercise which has psychologically scarred a teenage Graham. This time Graham came out on top. Take that shrink wrap!
How's that for a slice of fried gold. See you all next time!

Tower Hamlets Report written by Peter Van Tongeren
As per title and main picture... guess who's legs those are!
Besides sorting out some wall issues by those mystery legs, there were lots of jobs that were tackled by this marvelous team:
Apologies if I left any off, there was so much going on, near impossible to track everything & everyone!
A few names to highight:
We had one person come down for the first time! Welcome to the Goodgym family Dami! Newhams Helen can be looking forward to her black t-shirt after completing her 50th task! That banana cake looked delicious and was well earned. And Natalie will be floating home carried by her newly acquired wings - 100 tasks for this Greenwich regular.
Thanks to Nick & Sharon for taking pictures and big thank you from Richard and the Crisis team for all the work done!
There are a couple of sessions up for next week, shifting from evenings to day time on Wednesday & Thursday. Like the Saturdays, these are logged as 10-4, but you can come later and/or finish earlier - very much flexible volunteering! So if you need an excuse to escape the house for a little while, why not pop round and help out for a while?

Hackney Report written by Greenwich runner
Good! Layed some carpet tiles and flooring and moved fridges! I don’t have any group photos so if anyone can share?! Here’s one from my journey home instead!
Additional report from Hilary
Back again at the Crisis Christmas Warehouse last night with a wide range of GoodGym area representation - Camden, Islington, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and even as far away as Barnet. It's lovely to have folks from the different groups come together (if perhaps a shame you can't always tell who everyone is due to fairly extensive face maskage...)
This evening, task owner Richard set us to work on three different things. One team got creative with some floor tiles, making a pleasant working environment for volunteers who'll be helping with some of the donations coming into the Warehouse and providing a welcoming area when those donations are dropped off. I know from personal experience that it's harder than it looks to get those floor tiles lined up, so well done team, the pattern looked great.
Another group helped with some of the areas in the Warehouse that'll be used to store donations. The Warehouse itself is a bit on the dusty side, so this meant laying out a plastic flooring that will then be kept clean (shoes off! ... or more likely shoe coverings on) for the donations. Well done on not trampling more dust all over them. Between the big areas of black plastic and the patterned floor tiles, this part of the Warehouse now has something of a dance floor vibe.
A third team were tasked with moving some donated fridges to various parts of the Warehouse where they'll be needed. Quite a few hands went up quickly for this job, but that was probably before we found out we'd have to carry a couple up a flight of stairs... In the end, many hands made light (ish) work, but we had a bit of fun getting them standing up in one of their locations. Some problem solving skills came to the fore and we were able to get them in place without ruining any ceiling tiles or breaking the glass fridge doors in the process.
All in all, great work and lots more to do, so look forward to seeing you folks again at the sessions coming up.
