When the shop is clean, people are more inclined to purchase items, which boosts our revenues and thus our contribution to Oxfam's Global mission.

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Kash
Traid is a charity promoting reducing waste by championing second-hand fashion while raising funds to support global projects improving the lives of workers in fashion industry and preventing child labour.
On sunny Monday evening, a slightly smaller than usual group of GoodGymers joined the Traid team in their Shepherd's Bush store for the seasonal packdown of the old stock. The neighbouring GoodGym areas: Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham sent one person each to help remove the light and colourful spring clothes and make space for even more vivid summer outfits. Jalal, Pippa and Kash, despite being only a trio, nearly doubled the pairs of hands involved in the operation!
In less than 70 minutes all the clothes landed in massive cardboard boxes destined to be sent to the warehouse, and all the hangers - in bags. The whole Traid team was extremely grateful to the GoodGym team for making their big packdown evening much shorter - such lovely people! A the GoodGymers? What legends!

This evening, three members of the GoodGym team took part in a rewarding community task at the TRAID clothing store. The objective was to help clear, organize, and prepare stock for storage while supporting the store team with a major reorganization project. During the session, we: 👕 Removed clothing from the rails and display areas. 📦 Sorted and packed the clothing into large storage boxes ready for storage and transportation. 🏪 Helped reorganize and tidy the store to create a cleaner and more efficient workspace. 👔 Collected and sorted clothing hangers by material: Plastic hangers were bagged separately. Metal hangers were bagged separately. Wooden hangers were bagged separately. 🧹 Assisted with general housekeeping and organization throughout the store. The task was a fantastic example of teamwork, cooperation, and community spirit. Everyone worked together with enthusiasm and positivity, making the workload both enjoyable and productive. It was great to see the transformation of the space as we packed, sorted, and organized the store. A huge thank you to everyone involved. The evening was filled with kindness, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping the local community. 💚 Another successful GoodGym mission combining physical activity with meaningful community support. We arrived at the meeting point and then travelled together to the charity shop. Once we arrived, we started working. First, we sorted and packed books into boxes, making sure they were organised and ready for storage. After that, we moved on to sorting clothes. We separated the clothing items and placed them in their appropriate sections around the shop to help keep everything organised and accessible for customers. The team worked efficiently throughout the session, helping the charity shop organise its stock and create more space for customers and donations.

Last night’s volunteering session at Masbro Centre felt a bit like stepping into a mystery novel...
After arriving, we were led through a door that many of us had never even noticed before. Behind it lay the "Secret Garden" – and secret it certainly was! 😄
What we found was a space that had seen better days. There were pots everywhere, evidence of some ambitious gardening attempts, weeds making themselves very much at home, and plenty of plastic and waste scattered around. It was less "Secret Garden" and more "Secret Jungle!" 🌱🪴
Not to be deterred, the team got stuck in straight away. 💪
🗑️ We cleared four large black bags of waste.
🌿 We depotted plants and removed weeds that had taken over.
🧹 We swept the floor until it was clean and welcoming again.
🪑 We cleared and cleaned the benches.
🔧 We organised the shed so everything now has a proper home.
🪴 We carefully arranged the pots neatly to one side, making the whole area look far more inviting.
The transformation was incredible. What started as a cluttered and forgotten corner is now a bright, tidy and welcoming outdoor space where the nursery children can learn, explore and enjoy being outside. 🌞
A fantastic evening of teamwork, plenty of laughs, and a real before-and-after success story. The Secret Garden is a secret no more—and it's looking better than ever! 🌿✨
