Waltham Forest Report written by Tony
A rather damp afternoon promoting Good Gym to the good people perusing the bargains on the Francis Road Jumble Trail.
Justin and Tony braved the elements to spread the good word and got a few interested ppl to sign up to find out more about us.
The unusual outcome from the day was the rain bled the red ink on a couple of the posters to create a perfect bloody zombie run advert. Great idea for Halloween Julia!

Three of the hardiest of Hackney goodgymers made it to Homerton adventure playground for a spot of weeding to clear a rockery and a raised bed that will hopefully become a vegetable patch for the kids. My initial optimism ("at least it's stopped raining") did not last as a torrential downpour descended on us. To be continued.

It is beeeea-utiful out there in these summer evenings! Katriona, Joel, Tom and Steve arrived on a warm, sunny evening ready to help this great community project.
Charlene welcomed us to the Pearson Street Adventure Playground to help out with a bundle of tasks. It’s an amazing space, with plenty of slides, zipwires and climbing structures that made us wish we were kids again!
A huge welcome to Tom, here on his very first GoodGym community mission, and a big hello to Justin on his third, plus regulars Katriona and Steve!
Charlene handed out tools and gave us a quick tour of the site, pointing out some of the tasks to be done. Tom and Joel got to work on stripping some branches for firewood and storing them in a handy sheltered space beneath a ramp. Katriona got to work weeding and clearing out space for Tom and Joel, and helped sweep away the (many) cobwebs in the shed. Steve’s bicycle maintenance experience came in handy for sorting donated bikes into salvageable and not-so-salvageable, all to be stored in the newly tidied shed awaiting maintenance.
The hour was over before we knew it, and Charlene was visibly pleased with our help. There’s plenty still to do, and we’ll likely be back very soon!

Great to help out at such a nice community venue this evening, and to meet Steve, Katriona and Tom. I think you've mixed me up with Joel though Steve! Hope to catch you guys soon at another mission :)

Hackney Report written by Even Alin
On a sunny summer's eve, the good folk of Hackney GC found themselves shovelling shit for a good cause, namely preparing the ground for a new hedgerow at Hackney City Farm.
Fun was had by all (I think), and the team at the farm we're grateful for the help.
I know you're all on the edge of your seats wondering; will they finish this Herculean task, will someone fall into the mound of shit (probably), will Chi ever do any work when he turns up (probably not) and who genuinely thinks this task has had a life-changing impact on their lives (all of us - we're now scarred).
For more on this, watch this space for the next thrilling instalment of this epic adventure.
