Crystal Palace Report written by Cat
We had our second outing to help Jeannette and Alan dismantle the smaller chicken coop at Dorset Road Allotments tonight. Assisted by some power tools (handled by Alan) we made great progress and managed to take off one of the sides and most of the roof, not to mention many wheelbarrows of weeds and brambles that had grown since the last time we visited. Special shout out to Laura who was visiting from Mali and chose to spend her limited time off helping us out!
Once we'd finished the task, we were treated to a selection of allotment-grown fruit and veg as a thank you for our hard work, which was a lovely surprise!

Crystal Palace Report written by Fiona (She/her)
This small but mighty team tonight met as usual at the Bridge House then took a lovely jog up the hill through Crystal Palace park, admiring the sunshine and the doggies, but less enamoured with the scratchy pollen in the wind. John from the Crystal Palace Museum was kind enough to bring us water, and we started our digging, scraping, weeding and sifting soil (through a shopping trolley, of course). We got loads done, and can see even more of the floor of the Water Tower now. John as usual told us we're nearly there, and added he's had a lot of interest in looking around from the Trust - which is hopeful for supporting the end of the project, finishing it off for it to be opened to the public. We packed 4 bags of soil for use in local community garden projects, cleared the weeds from the recent sunny weather, then headed off home, back down the hill. See you next time, John :)
