It started as a weeding and bulb planting task, with Libby, Liam, Jane, Becca, Claire and Laura clearing round 6 of the trees and section of the long bed and planting a variety of bulbs in clumps. David sorted some compost and swept the basketball court of leaves. Annabel from the garden group noticed that one of the Rowan trees was dead and at an angle and was rocking. We were concerned about leaving it in case it fell on anyone so between us we managed to push it over and then saw it up. We then went back to the bulb planting (and also cutting down the raspberry canes when Laura got side tracked again). At the end Claire shared some delicious treacle flapjacks with us all.

We returned to Middlethorpe Hall for another fence painting session. the rumours of how well we get looked after must be out as it was a bumper turn out!

We quickly got started with a team at each end containing wire brushers and painters. We speedily advanced towards each other - apparently team Vicky did two thirds to team Ed's one third - sounds about right!

Once our section was finished we were rewarded with scones, sandwiches and hot drinks.

The best was yet to come however - we got to go behind the scenes and pose on the roof for our group photo!

All in all a very enjoyable afternoon, in many ways!
