This Sunday we were back delivering roast dinners for Odd Down residents who can't make the monthly community lunch put on by St Philip's Church. Only four people had signed up but they really appreciate their takeaway.

Mary and I put some welly into the deliveries so they were still hot when they arrived. It also proved to be a proper workout because we had to bring back a donation to base - and come back with change. I made the mistake of putting a fiver through the letterbox and it was snapped up by the dog. Oops.

For people that come to the meals it's a chance to catch up and not feel so alone For those who are housebound it's a reminder that the church cares. We'll be back next month.

Fun bun run on (Easter) Sun

While the rest of Bath was tucking into their Easter Eggs we three GoodGymers were donning our bunny ears and getting ready to marshal at junior Parkrun. Actually it was way too windy for bunny ears but the sentiment was there.

We walked most of the course at Odd Down Sports Ground to get into our respective positions and then were in full cheer mode as the young Parkrunners made their way round the 2km required. It’s amazing to see the children speed up to give you a hi five and give an extra burst of energy with an encouraging word from Mary, Tanya or myself.

There were only 65 participants this week - probably because of the clash with Easter - but what they lacked in numbers they made up in enthusiasm. We’ll be back for more of that in two months time.

If your wrists are hurting, Do think about adapting the position if possible going onto your elbows. (You could also think about going onto your fists as a change) Another technique that might help is to think about pushing your fingers down and gripping the mat more.( something I haven’t mentioned for awhile.) You could also think about using blocks to reduce pressure.
