Matthew Lett done a 6 month mission streak.
Matthew just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Matthew a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.

The soil was dry and dusty after so much sun so we had to dig hard and deep with rakes and spades to harvest our crop of cara potatoes. Helped by two GG regulars, members of Bexley Mencap’s gardening group, swopped their blue t-shirts for red, as we set to work on our allotment plot at Alyers Road.
Luckily, it was a cool evening and we laid down woodchipping in front of the sheds as well as cutting back the weeds and tidying up the borders and pathways for our own plot and those of our neighbours. There was time to pick and eat some cherry tomatoes and spot our first green peppers, too! The runner beans are riding high as well. We’re also growing peas, winter squash, yellow tomatoes, garlic and onions, raspberries and dwarf and French beans. It all needs watering and weeding so it was a busy but enjoyable time trying to fit everything in.
Great effort by everyone.

Well done team, we had a mamouth task this morning clearing up 7 bins and 3 bin bags worth of leaves out of the gardens of Danson Youth Centre.
On top of it being pretty cold the rain decided to come and say hi too but this didn't dampen our spirits.
Its great to be able to get back out there and do good, i also know we will have a lot of catching up to do within the community. With this being said make sure you get youselves signed up for our next good deed, it'll be great to see you.

IT WAS ALL HANDS AND BROOMS ON DECK
Just like most the teams in our division those weeds didn't stand a chance against our awesome offence. Well done today Goodgymers you should give yourselves and massive pat on your back, we destroyed that missssion..................

What a brilliant morning had by all at Welling FC.
We had two teams and both played beautifully. We had one team playing left back in the gents toilets giving them a fresh lick of paint whilst the other squad played the field really well by removing rubbish, sweeping and weeding. The final score ended in a well deserved draw...........
It was lovely seeing new and old faces this morning 👊🏻😁 Well done everyone, see ya at the next misshhhhh...........

It was good to see some familiar faces this morning following lockdown, with Matt, Emanuel and Gemma making a welcome return to the Goodgym mission team. They joined 10 other Goodgymers in the latest effort to clean up Bexley’s green spaces. After two weeks at Hall Place we returned to Danson Park. It may have been we were a bit earlier but Danson seemed a lot tidier than when we were last there but we still managed to collect a fair amount of bottle tops, gas bottles and cigarette butts. A number of park users thanked us for efforts including a woo woo from Jan Lake. For parkrun participants she’s the enthusiastic volunteer at the turn before the shale path.

Bexley news
Tonight we met at Crook Log ready for our task at Bexley Mencap. We were heading back to the Mencap offices to give the activity room a second coat of paint after we had already given the first coat a few weeks back.
It was great to have not 1, but 2! New members join us tonight. Welcome to Mauro and Jack we hope you enjoyed your first run and task with us!
We had a quick warm up as we wanted to leave as soon as possible as there was lots to get done on the task.
The walking group set off first as to get to the task first and open the door for us as Nick has the keys
The running group set off on a slightly longer route to try and arrive at the task at the same time. Well done to Liam for joining the running group tonight for the first time!
Upon arrival, it was all hands on deck! We had paint pouring, paint rolling, paint brushing, paint wiping. It wasn't long before the second coat of white paint was nearly done.
We helped Nick tidy up and headed off back to Crook Log.
Well done tonight! We got lots done and helped Nick out a lots!
Next week we are at the Care Home.
Until then...
Happy running!

The children from West Lodge and Merton Court primary schools in Sidcup are collaborating with the Sidcup Partners BID to create a 'bee street' by planting wildflowers, fruit trees and plants to make a Mediterranean garden that will attract more bees to the area.
🌷🐝🌸🐝🌹🐝🌺🐝🌻🐝🌼
Ten GoodGymers, some swarming to the mission from local parkruns, joined a buzzing posse of pupils and teachers at the first part of this project which involved prepping a patch of ground 'donated' by Barclays Bank next to their Sidcup High Street branch.
Kitted out in high-vis jackets and gardening gloves we chose our tools from a selection of spades, gardening forks and tree loppers. In no time at all the site was a hive of activity with everyone lifting turf and pruning overhanging branches. This was followed by bagging up all the debris and covering the plot with plastic sheeting.
With so many busy bees all working together we made good progress, and we look forward to helping out again as the project progresses.
Meanwhile here are some bee jokes to keep you going:
🐝
How do young bees get to school? On the school buzz!
🐝
What is a bee's favourite Spice Girls song? Wanna-bee!
🐝
How does a bee style its hair? With a honeycomb!

Bexley News...
- Well done Nick for reaching 50 good deeds tonight!
- We have a brand new Community Mission on Saturday to help prepare and set up Bee Street. We will be meeting at Barclays Bank in Sidcup at 10am
- We will be heading to Danson Youth Centre on Saturday for their [Quiz Night]. It's great fun! Let me know if you want to come as tables must be pre-booked. We already have 3 teams!
Tonight was a special run for us as it was GoodGym Bexley's 3rd Birthday
We met at Crook Log, thankful that it wasn't raining and no storms were going on outside! We heading out for our warm up before making our way to Welling Library.
As usual, we had a walking group and a running group.
We made our way straight down Welling High Street as we were meeting Patrick, who was giving us seeds to plant as part of the Bee Street Project.
On arrival, Patrick was already there and had started planting some small shrubs which were going to be acting as an edging/barrier to hopefully stop people walking over the garden area.
We were working on 2 areas tonight...
The Welling Cannon
and
Welling Library.
First we had to weed and tidy the garden areas, rake the soil and the spread the seeds.
There was actually a lot more garden area than we thought.
After not very long we were done. All the seeds had been sprinkled over the area, so we swept and tidying away before heading to the pub for our birthday celebrations!
Well done guys!
Until next time...
Happy running!
