Fifteen intrepid explorers braved the wilderness to hunt down exotic animals in the remote district of Barnet (mostly). It's a dangerous journey north if you want to explore this region of London but alone and isolated these risk taking runners hit the jungles and savanna's with their fully charged weapons (well camera phones). Strava instigated, they found some extraordinary sites and had to endure great hardship. ( well if you call 21° and slight wind difficult conditions) The photos are Exhibited above and a committee was formed to judge the winners on a social zoom call. Judge for yourself. The committee recommend the following for distinction. Please give them a shout out! ... and all the others.
3rd The giraffe with NHS sign at Regents Park zoo.Abi 2nd Swans mother and cygnets.Sally 1st Lion on on top of canal boat. ( yes amazing) Kat
keep exploring!

The task was to run and take a photo of something that you enjoy or appreciate seeing. Could be a flower, tree, building, statue, view, car.. anything! We will found some little gems for each other in barnet . I hope you can find an idea for your next run. Thanks to all the people that have contributed.
For my highlight I ran to my new happy place which is a quiet little pond in a tiny bit of green space in Holloway. Visited at the weekend and spotted a few tadpoles....today there were thousands and I could have watched them for ages. To make it even better it has a great three word address! https://w3w.co/drain.scary.market

Happy Sunday team 😊 Here's my highlight... https://w3w.co/shower.mutual.stiff Hidden behind bushes and fences near Primrose Hill is this train tunnel portal on the line out of Marylebone. Apparently it was London's first train tunnel. Dan
My local highlight is Golders Hill Park.:)) The park is really picturesque and peaceful. There is also a zoo, where you can see donkeys, lemurs, deer and other animals. 🦌🦝🐎 🐿️ If you haven't been there, I highly recommend visiting : https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/things-to-do/green-spaces/hampstead-heath/golders-hill-park/Pages/default.aspx

Here’s my happy place! It’s the drinking fountain at Highgate Woods. Which is my absolute favourite place to run - I love seeing it at all times of year and how it changes. The bluebells now are particularly lovely. I know it’s Haringey not Barnet so it’s a bit of a cheat.... but we’ve done it for GG Barnet tasks so I figured that was ok...?
Highgate woods fountain What three words - meals.noted.remark. And my selfie, minus GG t shirt which I forgot 🙄
Hello! Here is my highlight run in Hampstead garden Suburb near Hampstead Heath extension. It’s a great place to run/walk and explore. If you are a Harry Potter fan you may like this....my highlight moment in Barnet. Can you guess?

We have also got some love hearts, a litter picker and a shovel (iconic images for GGB! ) Lots of runners involved in producing this picture below. Some of them are in red below give them a shout by clicking on the name.

Thanks to Sarah for coordinating the idea, photos and the following words....
Over time, the GoodGym Barnet community has spread worldwide! Whilst we are apart for now, separated by either social distancing or the Atlantic Ocean we are still running as a community, doing good and looking forward to our next run together.
Thank you to all that took part and lets keep rising to the challange!
here is the next one https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/run-for-a-local-highlight
