At FoodCycle there was amazing turn out of 44 guests and 4 of our dedicated Goodgymers joined the team to provide a tasty meal for them. There was great team work as they worked together with the FoodCycle volunteers to host, cook, wash up and provide a welcoming atmosphere.

We had 4 Goodgymers on the team at FoodCycle last night, and once again they all worked hard to ensure there was a lovely meal provided to the guests and volunteers. Gill was in the kitchen leading the cooking team as well as cooking a delicious Mussaman curry and rice as well as making flap jacks to accompany a fruit salad. Neill, Fawaz and Abdulrahman were hosting, and made sure the guests were welcomed and served with a smile. At the end of the evening Abdulrahman and Gill loaded up the car with empty crates to be returned to Sainsburys, and there was enough food for all volunteers who fancied it to have a meal to eat in or take home. There is always a fun atmosphere between all the GoodGym and FoodCycle volunteers and we all had an enjoyable evening.

What a day to be stuck indoors. The sun was shining and it was so inviting to be outside, but the three of us had made a commitment to help with the jobs fair. After helping get the furniture laid out we found a good excuse to get outside by offering to help exhibitors get there resources to the centre from the cars. After that we were only too haply to lurk in the sunshine while approaching customers leaving the event to ask them to complete the feedback surveys. It was lovely to catch up with some familiar faces from the council and to help with closing down the event too. And great to bump into Faith, one of our group, and hear the news of her baby who she is expecting in July! Great work Musa and Neill and as always your professionalism and great communication with the attendees was much appreciated by Matt and the LBC team.
