Lewisham Report written by Kim
GoodGym Lewisham's loss is GoodGym Bristol's gain! Rianna joined us for her last group run in Lewisham before her move to Bristol, we'll miss you!
It was nearly a group run were we ended up task-less after a longer run to get there but just at the last minute before we gave up all hope, Matt appeared in the sunshine to let us into the garden.
It meant we had 20mins of speed GoodGyming but we enjoy a challenge and we still got a huge amount done (and we didn't mind spending 20min chatting in the sunshine).
We got straight stuck into spreading the woodchip and weeding one area of the garden.
A group of 3 tackled moving some very very heavy marble to the other end of the garden.
Maria watered the plants which were looking very thirsty but after 20min of watering they all looked much happier!
Isaac then began dismantling pallets, it was important to keep the wood in 1 piece so it could be reused. With Isaac managing to achieve this whilst only breaking 1 piece, I'd call that a success.
Because we'd taken our group photo at the start thinking we'd have to find some litter on the route home to make our good deed count, we said our goodbyes and made our way back to Glass Mill.
Great work tonight everyone with the longer run and shorter task. We'll be heading back to PNK Garden at the beginning of August to continue what we started.

I'm glad the task worked out in the end ☺️ and all the best Rianna in Bristol. Thanks for accompanying me at a few missions during the summer of lockdown. ☀️😷

Bristol Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)
It was Plan B for the GoodGymmers old and new in Queen Square on a balmy (barmy?) Tuesday night as the runners set off for a run up a big hill with the promise of farm animals and drinking water at the top.
Chris was ready to welcome the team with the sprinkler already on the go for anyone needing a cool down - de-bindweeding the fruit cage (eating as many ripe berries as possible), de-grassing the maize field and turning the compost heap until there was actual compost accessible - all warm work on a hot evening so breaks to see the goats, chickens and pigs were encouraged.
It was great to welcome some new faces and recognise returners from pre-pandemic days. We (over) filled three wheelbarrows with naughty weeds which were moved to the bonfire before tidying away the tools and enjoying the run back down the big grassy hill.
We finished off with stretching and congratulating Richard on his 50th parkrun before heading for well-earned drinks on the back terrace at Workout - perfect!

Four GoodGymers met at Windmill Hill City Farm on a lovely sunny Friday. Todays task consisted of sweeping leaves and weeding around the middle paddock. It was lovely seeing everyone, have a good weekend!
