Last night we gave Bromley's Church House Gardens a quick tidy while Kerry from the Friends of group dug out some invasive plants.

I was delighted to see so many turn out, our strongest showing since relaunching in August, and especially grateful for Rose setting the pace on our 2K running loop to kick off the evening.

Special mention to first timers Vinesh, Marina and Paige. Also Sarah for taking the initiative to lead our walking group to the task.

I hope you'll all be able to join us again later this month.

Next up on Monday 21st we're flyering for Library of Things. LoT run a network of lockers stocked with useful tools like drills and carpet cleaners to help ease the cost of living in our community.

Okay, maybe "high drama" is a bit of an oversell.

But our litter-picking volunteers did earn rave reviews from my viewpoint, helping fish old booze bottles and a once-loved deck chair from Church House Gardens' overgrown pond.

Special mention to first-timers Rose and Sarah and to Kerry and Jeff from the Friends of Bromley Town Parks and Gardens for showing us the ropes.

Quick history lesson: the park's amphitheatre was built around 1979 to replace a vandalised island bandstand and continues to be used today to host live concerts and performances.
