Chelmsford Report written by David Chatterjee
Happy New Year!
We gathered in the cold to get ready for our first run and task of the year. Led expertly by our lovely Laurie, we welcomed back Paul 'second best to me at world cup predictions' Fisk after a long hiatus and said hello Cherry, a first timer!
We ventured down the bunny walks, carrying the litter pickers and met Fay (one of our new area guru) and Sallyann at Wharf Road after they had walked there. Fantastic to have you back Sallyann! Our first ever goodgym walker. Apart from Rich obviously...
Discussing new year resolutions, and Sam's burning desire to try the Prime drink (or not) we picked up a hefty amount of litter. Trotting through to the new estate of flats and houses (naturally because Andy is old he complained about the positioning of the lamppost) I took a photo of everyone. It was of everyone but all you can see is the majestic brightness of Joe's new coat/ gift from Santa. We dropped the bags by the bins and headed back to the uni up the high street.
Sorry about the diabolical photos - i shall improve next time!
Have a good week!

Not quite "To be, or not to be" but that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer, The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take Arms against a Sea of litter" .
I am no Shakespeare, more Shake-litter picker, but we all hope Chelmsford is a bit cleaner As you Like It. It was A Winters Tale as the seven of us plogged our way toward Park Avenue and Admirals Park. Measure for Measure we managed three bags of litter and around 5km.
We had some fun by Geek Retreat, doing some sprint time-trials and soon the cold felt like Much Ado About Nothing.
All's Well That Ends Well and the Goodgym play continues...
Take a bow.

I'm sprinting in the rain, just sprintin' in the rain What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again I'm laughing at clouds so dark up above The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face I walk down Sprinfield Lane with a happy refrain...
Anyway! Tonight we welcomed back Sam and Richard who brought their enthusiasm to the task as we delivered almost 300 leaflets! The leaflets from Foodcycle were information for both volunteers and anyone who might need Foodcycle, who are more than a foodbank... https://foodcycle.org.uk/location/foodcycle-chelmsford/
On our return to base we managed some sprint intervals along the River path before heading home to dry off.
Great effort!
