5 hardy volunteers braved the rain to help with registration, marshalling and medal distribution at City Of Portsmouth AC's Victory 5 race.
A big thank you from the race director, the races don't happen without volunteers.
I didn't manage to get a group pic so please enjoy the montage with my face in it too many times!! ๐

Almost a full day's work done today.
Expert cyclist/traffic marshalling by our event safety manager Louisa "mind the gravel, low gear", tea and coffee duties by Tony who was relentlessly making drinks for 3 hours without a break, waterboy Dave who's done some weightlifting with the water barrels. I was chopping oranges and cakes trying to make the food last a little longer.... plus bin duty (the glamour!!).
Supreme efforts and plenty of GG spirit on display from the team today ๐ช๐ผ

On a lovely Tuesday evening, an Olympic inspired bunch of GoodGymmers rocked up to help with some gardens at one of our favourite venues, St John's Court.
Lining up for this race were Portsmouth GoodGym alumni and Olympic legends Katie and Tony. Previous medal winners Felicia and James had also qualified for this final, whilst new to the Olympics Evie had also made it to the final. Finally, veteran Meyrick completed the lin up.
Straight out of the blocks we were tackling the weeds in the beatifully tranquil garden area at the back of St Johns Court, right by the river. This Olympic venue is is managed accommodation for the elderly and we were also joined by Lily and Sam, residents with action and support in there hearts.
WE had a lot to do in an hour but made quick work of the two flower beds we were asked to weed, also having time to plant flowers in their place which are likely to make this a really nice gardens feature over the next few weeks.
Peripheral work was also going on as more cutting back needed doing in the general area, to help make this as tranquil and tidy an area for the residents to enjoy.
Great work by all, everyone won Gold and everyone broke World Records.

Havant Parkrun is a green beauty - mature trees, shaded woodland, sculpture... Even the subway under the main road has colourful Staunton-themed murals.
Yvonne marched round, Katie & Tony ran it, and Judy directed the traffic at the complex crossroads!
And the red GG t shirts made a bright impact!

A good clear out always feels good and these GoodGymers felt even better as their pre loved clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac were all donated to Sam's Place.
All sales from the shop will fund local Samaritans services. โค๏ธ

Our first festive task of this season brought a little bit of joy to plenty of GoodGymers this evening. We joined volunteers at Baffins Pond Association to put up the Christmas Decorations around the compound.
Everyone got in the spirit and there were plenty of super Christmas jumpers, hats and leggings on display.
Wilson's commitment to detail extended to all of the little statues in the compound who are now sporting very dapper Christmas bow-ties!
The compound looked absolutely fantastic by the time we were done - Christmas basically threw up over Baffins Pond this evening.

We had exceptional autumnal weather for the 10km race at The Ageas Bowl this morning.
We welcomed Richard to his first GG Race Event - great to have you along today!
Those of us that ran last year had forgotten the levels of undulations on the course, although Dave is very convinced he ran up a few mountains!
