What The Hill.. 😤 (Brutal Run)

Woking Report written by Wayne

Brutal Run Bagshot

This morning, I took part in the Brutal Run in Bagshot at the army training ground. The last time I did a Brutal Run was over a year ago, but this one has always been a favourite of mine. 🏃‍♂️

It was a cold morning and a few days ago the race organiser were breaking up ice in the water sections, so I knew it was going to be a cold one and was prepared to get frozen toes. 🥶

As usual I got their early to register and collect my race number and it was great to see and catch up with some familiar faces from previous Brutal Runs. 😊

Just before the race began, we all did some warm up exercises and then we were off. I had signed up to the 6k route this morning the first 1.5k had a mixture of large puddles with a few little hills nothing to bad, once we hit the 2k mark we started to hit the big hills, luckily, I have a few times done these hills, but they never get easier, going down was also tricky with the loose gravel and stones.

The last 2k was all water sections, some areas were waist deep with uneven ground beneath your feet this is where I lost my footing a few times but was so glad when I was out. Finally, I could see the end going through the last wooded area then the final big puddle over the finish line to collect my medal and snack. I headed back to the car to get out of my wet gear and warm up my toes with another Brutal medal to the collection. 🥇
